"Having gone through several home inspections, I can say that Mark was an excellent inspector.  He was very thorough and took the time to ensure that you understood all of the workings of the home & why the things that he found were relevant (he also was very clear about the key items you should really care about vs. the minor/cosmetic type fixes).  While the inspection lasted ~4+hours for a ~3,500 S.F. home, Mark did not waste anyone's time.  He moved quickly through his analysis & was very succinct with his explanations. He was able to turn his report within 24 hours, which was well-put together, easy to understand & complete with all relevant photos/explanations (for what its worth, the sellers agreed to fix everything that Mark identified in his report).  Unfortunately, the subject house purchase fell through on appraisal issues.  We tried to hire Mark again for our next inspection but he was booked up and unable to do the inspection on the date that we required.  So my only complaint would be that he may want to consider developing a team of inspectors to learn his skills/approach and work for him so that he can cover more ground in the Chicagoland area. <br />"

"Central Survey was very responsive and completed the survey I needed in a timely manner. Other firms I called took 2 or 3 days just to call me back. Their price was better than most other quotes.  <br /> A very minor issue was that I was told I would be contacted the morning of the survey so that I could unlock the back gate, answer any questions, etc. I wasn't contacted so was a bit surprised when the surveyor showed up several days earlier than expected. I called the Marchese company because it had a high rating and was close to my home. I talked to the owner and explained my problem and he was kine enough to expidit my request. The surveyor was very professional and friendly. I enjoyed talking to him and he answered all of my questions. Within 24 hours I had my plat and several copies. I can now get my permit from the village. I certainly use this company again and would recomend them to my friends. Everyone I dealt with at this company was very friendly and a great help."

Our quote from this provider was the max, $2500. Most were closer to the average range. We noticed that other reviews on this website have been somewhat favorable, so they may offer other competitive services. The experience for our need just is way too overpriced."

"<p>We bought a coupon for 4 hours of labor. The individual was asked to change out a light fixture and put together an IKEA kitchen island. The light fixture was changed out, but the light was hung by the cord and not the chain, ie the chain was longer than the electrical going into the ceiling. I fixed it...8 month pregnant with twins. The IKEA kitchen island was not finished and there was a significant amount of hardware missing from the parts completed. Approximately three hours was spent on this and it should have been completed in that amount of time. He literally left me with a box of hardware and a 2/3 completed kitchen island.  I completed this as well, but needed to have help moving it into the kitchen as the piece weights about 100lb and, as I said, was 8 months pregnant. </p> <p>I believe one of the problems was that the man who came barley spoke English and my Spanish, which is certainly sufficient in many situations and in no way basic, contained insufficient household/construction words to get my point across well.
