"Chris did a great job, especially considering that this particular work to upgrade a residential solar power system was new to him. I would gladly and confidently hire him again."

"Through this site I was looking for a licensed electrician for an RV outlet and generator inlet install. In less than 1 week, we had a visit, quote including alternative ideas that save on additional materials, and full professional installation. The work was completed very thoroughly and clean, the instructions clear, and the price was reasonable. Overall I will hire 34 North in a ❤️ beat again. Not many skilled contractors with this service commitment level are left."

"He received the notice early on Saturday morning and called within an hour. He was at my house to get the estimate done an hour after that. We agreed to have the install done the following Friday to give him time to get the permits done. He and his son we exactly on time and the price was actually lower than I anticipated. A totally professional job. This guy is on my list for my next electrical job."

"They did a great job. They scheduled and completed project within a week. Ryan was extremely responsive and even came back after to tidy up and make sure everything was perfect. Ryan went above and beyond to make sure it was done right and everything looked the way it should. Great customer service. I would highly recommend."

FAQs for generator repair projects in Wilmington, NC

In some states and municipalities, licensed and registered handypersons can change a light fixture and do minor electrical work. However, you should check with your state and local licensing boards before hiring a local handyperson. In most cases, it’s safer and more practical to hire an electrician for this job. It may cost more, but hiring a licensed electrician means they’ll get the work done to code.

Special light fixtures, known as damp-rated light fixtures, are recommended in bathrooms, particularly if they're near damp areas like showers and over the bathtub. However, in most locations, they’re not a strict requirement. For safety and longevity, damp-rated fixtures are a better choice. If you work with a lighting contractor in your area, they may be able to recommend the right kinds of fixtures for your space.

Yes, it’s possible to run a second light fixture to a switch, meaning the light switch would control more than one light fixture. Several factors can impact whether it’s possible and how much it will cost. In many cases, it may be easier and more affordable for the contractor to install independent light switches. Talk to your electrician about your idea to get their feedback.
