"Alpha had the lowest of 3 estimates I got before hand. I had wind and hail damage and my roof was 18 years old so it needed to be replaced. They did the entire job in half a day, cleaned up thoroughly after and did a great job. They were very respectful of my property and I was very pleased with them."

"The team at Good News Roofing was diligent and professional from start to finish. They came highly recommended from a neighbor and they did not disappoint. The communication was timely and the work stayed on schedule. They were also a tremendous help in negotiating with the insurance company. Their advice helped me save thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket costs. I recommend them without any reservations."

"I had a 30 year old tile roof that had multiple water ingress points. I collected three estimates, and Wilson was right in the middle of the price range. I selected Wilson as they are known for their experience in tile roofing--and they did not disappoint on my project. The showed up on they day they were scheduled on time. And over the next week they demolished the existing roof, repaired the points of any wood rot, rebuilt the chimney, replaced a skylight, and re-tiled the roof perfectly."

"We used Driftwood Builders after the last hail storm. While there were a bunch of migratory companies coming through town, I didn't feel like there would be anyone around to warranty their work. I am really glad we did, because they were efficient and used high quality product. My roof has held up much better than some of my neighbors. They have even come out to inspect it a couple of times since, and didn't use it as an opportunity to make more money. Truthful and honest. That's what I look for in a contractor. Could not imagine using anyone else."

"Everything went smooth from start to finish and I am very happy with the quality of work and the attention to detail by the whole crew. It took two days to do repairs (rotted door trim and trim boards near siding), power washing, and paint, two days to do the roof and new chimney surround, and a couple of trips out for some touch up work. Everyone was super friendly, professional, and kept me informed during the project."

"He did a tremendous job. I had to go to the hospital. My sister met them out here. He did an excellent job. He does remodeling too. He is supposed to get with me to write up a bid to putting/replacing some decking and hardy siding on one end of the house. I am waiting on him. He had a deal on Angie's list and it was detailed on what he was going to do. They did an excellent job. They did it faster and better than any of the other people that said that he was going to do. Quality is excellence. He worked real good with my sister. She took pictures of it and he just did an excellent job. There was like 5 or 6 guys working on the roof."

"Very well, once this deservedly very busy business got to my job. I received a bid from Quality Roofing on February 20, 2017. Their bid was about $2000 lower than a competing bid for a SnapLok Standing Seam GalvaLum roof and about $10,000 below another bid for a fiberglass shingle roof. I accepted Quality's bid on March 1 and sent them a down-payment of about 50% of the agreed price on March 5. They began work on my roof on April 13. Work was interrupted by Easter holidays and by rain but work on the roof and gutters was completed on May 3. I paid Quality the balance due on our contract on May 4. On May 5, I discovered that my water heater had gone out. I called a service provider and determined that the heater's pilot light had been blown out because, in installing the roof, the workmen had improperly re-attached the ventilator pipe that goes from the heater through the roof. The service provider fixed the problem for a small charge, which was promptly and courteously refunded to me by Quality when I advised them of the issue. The roof itself was a relatively simple job: a single gable with an easy slope. The real challenge was dealing with a pergola at the rear of my home when installing the gutters. The prior gutter installers had extreme difficulty in figuring out how to install the gutters in a way that made sense both functionally and aesthetically. (They originally had a downspout directly onto the wood deck! I had them remove the gutters from the pergola area, which was not very satisfactory but better than what they had done.) Quality's installers found a creative, effective, and aesthetic way to install the gutters and downspouts, including fitting the gutter between the pergola and the eaves of the house in a way that amazed both me and the Quality job supervisor. All Quality employees with whom I dealt, from the salesman/estimator to the supervisor and members of the installation crew and including the administrative staff that I dealt with by telephone were courteous, professional, and friendly."

"I cannot say enough good things about Milton Oliver of Oliver Brothers Roofing.  There are a lot of bad roofers in Austin, but Oliver Brothers will be the only roofer that sets foot my property. <br /> My house has two additions that have flat roofs. The skylights in one addition had leaked incessantly almost since I bought my house..  After i tried numerous times to fix them, and paid another roofer to fix the problem, I called Oliver Brothers based on a friend's recommendation.  He replaced the tar and gravel roof with a torch down roof.  Since 2010, I have had one problem with the skylight leaking.  Milton came out the day I called.  Turned out to be a defect in the skylight, not the roof.  Nevertheless, Milton fixed it for free. <br /> In 2013, the other flat roof, which was replaced in 2005 by another roofer, was already starting to look pretty bad.  Milton replaced it and I've had zero problems since.   <br /> Flat roofs are notoriously hard to keep from leaking.  I was up on my roof checking for signs of hail damage in late March 2014 after a storm.  Both flat roofs look brand new. <br /> I'd also like to share that I had Milton come evaluate the roof on my rent house recently.  Although we agreed the roof was poorly done (not his work) and would need to be replaced soon, he advised me to wait for a hail storm.  He could have sold me a roof that day, but he gave me his honest opinion knowing he'd get my business when the time is right. <br /> Oliver Brothers Roof will treat you right.  I highly recommend them. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Wimberley, TX

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
