I called Joe as ASAP Concrete and he said he would fit me into his schedule the next day since I had tile guys coming later in the week to tile and it would put me behind schedule if I didn't get it filled. "<p>We recommend this contractor.</p> <p><strong>Background.</strong>  This was our first project since the construction of the house in 10 years.  We researched the options of wood and metal buildings.  The cost of each was about the same.  However, the metal building was a quicker and durable option. </p> <p><strong>Contractor Choice.</strong>  We chose the contractor due to the price, the interview with the owner, their website, and a testimonial; we visited a previous job site where they did a similar project.  In general, the owner was more responsive and professional than the other contractors.  The other companies seem less professional and some were just odd.  The local contractor business in our area is competitive but not cheap.  </p> <p><strong>Foundation. </strong> Overall, the survey, land clearing, and laying the A/B aggregate went well.  We chose to hire an additional contractor to clear more land to expedite their work and for other projects.  Foundation framing and cement work went according plan.  During this phase, we were very much involved with their work since we need to integrate our other requirements into the foundation.  We needed to run water and power conduits into the foundation before the pouring of the concrete.  In addition, we prepared a portion of the foundation to support an in ground carlift.  All these actions required us to coordinate closely with the construction team.  Though our special modifications may have been a deviation from their standard work, they were more than willing to work with us to accommodate each special request and let us do the portions of the work we intended to do ourselves.  In addition, we were welcome to ask questions and review the work daily to ensure that there were no misunderstandings or incorrect expectations.   We enjoyed working with both the owner Caleb and his site lead, Calvin.</p> <p><strong>Erection.  </strong>We elected to wait 30 days to begin the erection after the pouring of foundation.  The erection went without any major incident. Caleb's crew performed all of the work for this portion, and did so at remarkable speed.</p> <p><strong>Follow-up.  </strong>We required a follow up visit to fix one of the overhead roll up garage doors that came off its track.  The contractor responded within a reasonable time and completed the work without issue.<br /> Overall, we were very satisfied with the entire experience, from bid through construction to completion. We recommend you consider this vendor for your next construction project.</p> <br />"

"I contracted with this company to repair my swimming pool and the foundation of my home 11/30/18. At this point, I have to give the company a C- (at best) for their performance. I could probably write several pages about the experience, but I will try to confine myself to the main points. On the plus side, they did perform the work I contracted for (cost $34,000), with one exception. The contract calls for a follow-up floor survey which was completed 11/24/20. To date (01/20/21), I am still waiting for the survey report. The expression, “take the money and run” comes to mind. This review will cover some of the things to consider when contracting with this company. The process will begin with the floor survey and repair report (cost $400). The sales agent will review the report with you and recommend a contract for the repairs. Mistake one. They offer a 5% discount if you sign the contract immediately. However, given it takes at least an hour to review the repair report, it would take another hour to review the massive number of “outs” written in the contract. Skip the discount so you know what you are getting into. For example, the foundation repair involved moving the flagstone on my patio. I had to pay another company to re-install the flagstone; not included in the contract. Mistake two. Most foundation problems are due to drainage; water pooling by the home. The repair report identified drainage problems, but they were not discussed, and the needed “hardscaping” to correct the problem was not included in the contract. My advice is to correct any drainage problem, then consider whether you still need a foundation repair. Mistake three. The repair plan allows the company to “adjust” the repair plan based on “site conditions”. They had to move the placement of the repair (poles driven into the ground, called push piers) because I have an air conditioner located where they planned to place the pier. Walk around the outside of your home and verify WHERE the piers will be placed, before signing the contract. Once you sign the contract, it is next to impossible (at least in my case) to get anyone to further discuss the repair plan. Mistake three. The pool repair was not performed by this company; it was subcontracted to another company, with no warranty. Better to simply find a pool repair company. The subcontractor would refer me back to AFS if I had a question about the pool repair, and good luck getting an answer from AFS. Mistake four. There ARE other companies that perform this work."

"My Wife and I would like to thank Tom Rubino of Landscape Drainage Solutions for his recent follow-up and the quality work installing our Stormwater Drainage System. After the record rain fall, we experienced two weeks ago, at our Scottsdale home, would have been flooded and facing considerable out-of-pocket cleanup and remediation costs. <br /> The Cost for having a well-designed stormwater drainage system installed by a highly professional, competent and qualified contractor like Tom Rubino and Landsape Drainage Solutions, paid for itself in less than 24 hours, great ROI in anyone's book. When Tom first assessed our situation and saw our photos of standing water in our side and back yards from previous storm events, he knew exactly how to resolve our stormwater drainage problem. Simply move the stormwater out of the side and back yards to the front yard and into street. <br /> Tom recommended using a combination of slot/channel drains annd five 9-inch box drains feeding into a 50 gallon heavy duty PVC sump tank with a submergible pump. Their cost and approach to our rainwater drainage problems were all over the map. What sold us on Landscape Drainage Solutions was Tom Rubino, is honest and professional approach to our problem, his 2-year work and materials guarantee and lastly, Tom's sincerity, what he says he does. Landscape Drainage Solutions is a great Companty to do business with. Tom took the stress out of a stressful situation. Both my wife and I woul like to thank you again, Tom, for giving us peace of mind with our stormwater drainage issues--the system worked flawlessly. "Everything was well done.  The craftsmen were knowledgeable, competent and friendly.  The cleanup was excellent as well.  The owner of La Casa Bella Builders is a thoughtful listener, asks good questions (which is so important for myself and my husband as we typically do things ourselves and wouldn't have considered asking the necessary questions), is very polite and engenders confidence and trust. <br /> We were not in a hurry for the work to be done.  This was important as we had to be slotted into a very full schedule.  I like our sink fixtures.  However, in retrospect, I should have shopped around for them rather than try to order from the builder's catalogue.  The catalogue had only one selection for our sink configuration.  It is likely that there would have been more choices had I shopped elsewhere.  That mistake is mine.  There was no pressure from the builder to purchase from him.  It just didn't occur to me to look about then bring him something to install.  <br /> My husband and I enjoyed the entire experience.  La Casa Bella Builders is first on our list for several other projects we have in mind.  I truly appreciated Sean and his willingness to let me talk the process out loud to him.  My husband is looking forward to working with him on changing our front patio into a real porch.  Sean had wonderful ideas about that and didn't charge us a cent for his insights. <br /> I have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone.  Everything about this experience was terrific. <br /> <br />"

"Southwest Building Solutions is the very best contractor I have ever used. From the beginning, working with Collin to get the building I was looking to get built at the right price. From there I met with Scott the owner of the company and we discussed all the things I wanted from the building size and add-ons; no other builder came close to getting what I wanted. When I finished talking to Scott, I knew I had the right builder. I then moved on to Chris the superintendent he also worked with me to make sure that all the things that were discussed were going to be completed. He also followed up several times to make sure that happened. The building crew moved on to the jobsite with Kevin as the supervisor they were the most professional crew I could have asked for. Every day they cleaned up the job site and made sure all the equipment was parked in line and professionally. The build took 5 days and the doors 1 day for a total of 6 days. "I put down a deposit for my project around June 2024, with the agreement that work would begin in January 2025. The deposit was supposed to secure my materials. In December 2024, I asked if they could start earlier and complete the project by Christmas. They agreed but couldn't begin until December 26th—not a big issue since the original start date was January. However, the real frustration began here. One of the pavers I selected was on backorder, and I had to order more than originally needed just to meet their supplier’s minimum requirement. This meant paying extra and waiting over four weeks to keep my design. [ My deposit DID NOT SECURE MY MATERIALS ] Despite my frustration, I agreed. Then, on February 19th, I received a message saying they would resume work in two days. I waited—no one showed up. I followed up on February 22nd and was told they would come on the 22nd or 23rd. Again, no show. I rearranged my schedule multiple times to accommodate these delays. Finally, on February 24th, they showed up and continued the work. Now, as of March 5, 2025, the installation is complete, but there are still unresolved issues—irrigation not working, scratches on the gate and wall, leftover project trash and other cosmetic problems. I have to reach out daily to ask if someone is coming to fix these, only to be met with delays and rescheduling. If you’re looking for a company that delivers decent work but terrible communication and scheduling, this is it. Their inability to set clear timelines or communicate properly has been beyond frustrating."
