"Lee and his crew were hired to clear dead pines and remove the tops of several trees to allow for more sunshine on my property and also for my Astrophotography Hobby, Lee knew going into this project that it was going to be a lot of tree shaping and changes to make clear skies for my Astrophotography, Lee informed me that I would have 4 men working continuously each day for the daily rate of $1300ea for 3 days, and I added another day because I got approval from my neighbors to clear a few of their trees to give me a better view of the skies, Lee agreed and gave me a break on the 4th day, so I ended up hiring them for 4 complete days and Lee said that they would get as much done as possible during an 8hr day, well, to start off with, they where very efficient about showing up on time each day, Jessie the primary worker was incredible, working all the time. I even gave Jessie a personal $100 tip when they left because I felt that he was extremely over worked picking up for the short coming of the rest of the team. As for the other workers, they would spend the majority of the time walking around and watching Jessie work. I personally had to call Lee the owner on the first day asking him why his men where Standing around when there was so much more to be done in other areas of my yard. Lee wouldnt show up until around lunch time to bring lunch to the guys and everyone seam to get more done when he was around. I kind of expected Lee to be gone a lot, after all, he is running a business, but, I never expect one man to be breaking his back, figuratively, while the other two men stood around and watched. Finally on the 3rd day, I had had enough of watching a man stand around with cokes and a bunch of snacks for a couple hours leaning on my Heat Pump, I had to leave my office and go outside to direct the work as to what I needed to be done and asked the one standing around if he could work on it. I as a customer should not have to micromanage a job. When Lee showed up that afternoon, we discussed this and he said he wanted to clean up and leave a day early, saying that I had gotten more from his team than he does for anyone, I dont believe that is true, I personally think that he bit off more than he expected and wanted to change the price after he agreed on the daily rate. I know there was a lot to be done, that is why I had about 7 other companies do bids for my job, Stewarts was not the lowest bid that I had received, although, I felt comfortable with him and I just trusted the reviews on this site and that is why I chose Stewarts, Did I get done what I wanted, No, he didnt even clear the primary view that I hired him to clear from the beginning. Lee kept telling me that the Large Pines Trees needed to come first. Did I get a professional looking job, Yes, would I recommend Lee and his team, Yes, But, be aware that when Lee tells you that he will have 4 men working, that actually means one hard worker and two standing around watching and Lee when he can be available. Sorry so long, I just feel that people need sites like this and the Truth not just a generic Great Job"

FAQs for tree stump removal projects in Woodbury, GA

Always transport chainsaws with the engine off and chain brake engaged. Use the protective bar cover provided by the rental company to prevent accidental contact with the cutting chain. Position the chainsaw securely in your vehicle to prevent movement during transit, ideally in a truck bed or trunk rather than the passenger compartment.

For gas models, ensure the fuel cap is tight and position the saw to minimize potential leakage. Keep the chainsaw away from passengers and other items that could be damaged.

Proper safety equipment is essential when operating any chainsaw. At minimum, you should have eye protection (safety glasses or a face shield), hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs), cut-resistant gloves, chainsaw chaps or pants, and sturdy boots with good traction.

Many rental facilities offer basic safety kits alongside chainsaw rentals. If you'll be using chainsaws regularly, investing in quality personal safety gear is advisable. Never operate a chainsaw without appropriate protective equipment, regardless of the job size.

While rental companies will rent chainsaws to beginners, inexperience significantly increases safety risks. If you've never used a chainsaw before, request a demonstration from the rental staff and thoroughly review the operator's manual before starting. Begin with smaller, more manageable cutting tasks to build comfort with the tool's operation.

For significant cutting jobs, consider either taking a chainsaw safety course first or hiring professionals instead. The learning curve for safe chainsaw operation is steep, and caution is paramount.

If mechanical problems develop during your rental, immediately cease operation and contact the rental company. Most reputable rental businesses will either provide a replacement chainsaw or repair the equipment if the breakdown resulted from normal use rather than misuse. Document the issue with photographs when possible and maintain records of when you reported the problem.

Having your rental agreement readily available when you call will expedite the resolution process. The rental company should adjust your rental period to account for any downtime.
