"I hired Mike and his team to paint several rooms, hall, and kitchen cabinets in my home. I am thrilled with the outcome of the work they have done for me. I went with them without prior knowledge of their business and am thrilled that I choose them. Their team is friendly, courteous and professional, never once leaving any mess or things behind while the work is being done. Mike is professional and attentive to his customers needs, and wants. He goes above and beyond to insured the job is done correctly and to the customers liking. Not your average joe and or business. I would recommend them to friends, family and anyone looking for a very pleasant experience and professional job. Thank you SpecSurf for making my house a home to be proud of."

"She revamped my sons nursery to exactly what I wanted his "big boy" rustic/woodland theme! Absolutely amazing and couldn't be happier. Half the price I was expecting and the attention to detail was amazing. My son is Autistic and very particular about his room and he loves it! She took the time to understand what was needed for him! This mama and son couldn't be happier with the outcome."

"I recently had my shingle roof replaced and I?m very happy with the results. The team was professional, punctual, and completed the job efficiently. The quality of the work is excellent, and the new roof looks great. They kept the work area clean and communicated well throughout the process. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a roof replacement."

"Brendan was amazing to work with. We found him when we wanted a custom stereo cabinet built and loved his work so much that when we designed our dream kitchen we knew he was the guy to build our custom cabinets and island. The craftsmanship is amazing and he has the attention to detail that you really want for a custom project. I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out."

"John Golemba is the consummate professional! One of the few carpentry professionals who have ever said to me "this repair will be furniture grade and you will never know the damage existed". I am a good amateur woodworker (DIY) and had my doubts. Boy did he prove me wrong! His work was quick, clean, and perfect! The refinished and repaired bay window sill (10' by 2.5') is as good, or better than the other one in the room. A perfect job by any standards! I will use him again without hesitation."

"I met Wes on Angies list last year, so I'm a happy repeat customer, and I will call him again. This time I had some challenging upper kitchen cabenets that I started to do myself, and set up the first corner cabinet and said self, you'd better call Wes, (my 1920 house predates thstraight lines). They came out beautiful! Call Amy and Wes, you'll be happier than you expected to be. <br />"

"I have now had 4 pickups from this company. Each time it has been with different items: I have had my kitchen remodeled,  a deck torn down and rebuilt, a new roof put on, old fencing disc arded, and a yard cleanup. The only difference in pricing was for the roofing and even though ti was more money it was STILL CHEAPER than a dumpster!!! I don't know how these guys do it, but they pickup on time, without issue andfor the cost quoted. I have turned each of my contractors onto them - now they are using them. SO MUCH cheaper and better service than any dumpster company I have used!"

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Woodstock, CT

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
