"I needed a level 2 charger installed for my new EV, so this was very short notice. Jeff came up right away to examine the property (and this was a Sunday). The very next day he came up with his helper and got started on the project. Very thorough, professional, very friendly, on time, etc. I absolutely recommend him, and any further electrical projects I need done he will be the first person I call."

"Very professional technician. In a nutshell, a tech came in as scheduled, heard what needs to be done, listened for the suggestions and ideas. He ended doing exactly what was discussed. He even came up with an idea on how to hide the wall cut. A great and affordable experience overall. Will use Casco Bay Electric again. Thanks!"

"Roy and his crew installed a media wall for us. It was much more a construction project than electric, but they did both beautifully and managed it very professionally, cleaning up after themselves and doing an extremely precise job. Cost was reasonable compared to other quotes. They are busy, so be prepared to wait a little on scheduling and communication. We plan to hire again!"

"A very skilled electrician! He communicated well and came to check out the job quickly. He had extensive experience with electrical work and was able to quickly fix a problem I had with my 100 year old wiring. He did it quickly and cleaned up the space after. Very professional! I will definitely be reaching out to Matt in the future with any electrical needs. "

"I recently hired Haendley Lamour of Blackout Electric LLC for a service upgrade and new circuit installations, and I couldn't be more impressed. From start to finish, Haendley was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented. He took the time to explain the process thoroughly, ensuring I understood the work being done. His craftsmanship was top-notch, and everything was completed efficiently, on time, and within budget. He also maintained a clean and organized workspace, which I truly appreciated. It’s rare to find an electrician who combines expertise, professionalism, and excellent customer service so seamlessly. I highly recommend Haendley Lamour and Blackout Electric LLC for any electrical needs—you won’t be disappointed! Thank you for the outstanding work! "

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Yarmouth, ME

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
