"We hired JMG to fix a lot of botched electrical after a kitchen remodel that wasnâ t done correctly. Juan went above and beyond to make us feel safe in fixing areas that were fire hazards while also being straight up about what we could choose to safely leave. He also installed great under cabinet lighting and ran electrical to our shed. He spends time coming up with creative solutions and has always been very kind to our family."

"We purchased a new home and worked with Abran Ganzalez to install new lighting and ceiling fans throughout the house. Mr. Ganzalez was very professional in scheduling and completing the work. He was also extremely helpful in suggesting placement and types of lights and switches to install. I was completely satisfied will would be delighted to work with him again on future electrical projects. I would highly recommend AKA Electric without reservations."

"These folks are AMAZING! I scheduled with this company on 2 occasions but both times an emergency came up at work and I had to cancel the appointment. They were so patient and understanding of my cancellations. They gave me an opportunity to reschedule immediately or later at my convenience. I have never dealt with such professionals from the office staff to the mechanic who called to say he was on his way to my home! I will DEFINITELY will book with them for this service and every other future service! R. Sanchez"

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Albuquerque, NM

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
