"S&B responded promptly to my project, quoted me a very fair price, and we scheduled the work to be done in less than a weeks time. My husband ended up selling the hot tub on marketplace just a couple of days before my work was scheduled, which I ended up having to cancel. But I won’t hesitate to schedule them again when I need to get rid of the rest of my stuff when we’re done downsizing."

"I purchased a Big Deal offering on 2 February 2011 with regards to ABC Tree Service (Formerly known as Tree Investment Corp.) providing two hours tree maintenance services for the price of $79.00.  My Coupon Code was Tree25872, with an expiration of 3 May 2011.  Instruction on/for the Big Deal was for the purchaser to contact the proprietor (Mr Robert Irvin ( 813-245-4493//psutreedoc@yahoo.com)) of Tree Investment Corp. (currently known as ABC Tree Service) to schedule a service date.  From the beginning I placed numerous phone calls, left voicemails and even sent emails to Mr Irvin.  Patiently,  for over a month I waited for some type of response.  Finally, Mr Irvin picked up  the phone one evening the 3rd week of March around 8:30 PM and we spoke.  His excuse for not reponding to my many previous calls and emails was that he was very busy in serving other customers.  Somewhat of atypical shallow excuse.  However, he did acknowledge having received my voicemails and emails.  Nonetheless, he agreed to come by my house within two days to assess the work I would like done.  I even arranged for my wife to take off work to meet him when he came to the house.  Apparently, he or one of his workmen came to the house, must have inspected the two trees I needed trimmed, never bothered to knock on the door or ring the bell, and merely dropped a business card on the mat on our front porch with no note or comments......as well as no response back from him to establish a time when the work could be accomplished.  Again, I attempted to contact Mr Irvin(repeatedly) and again no response.  Finally on 7 April 2011, I emailed Angie's List customer service and reported the  difficulty I was having in getting Tree Investment Corp. (currently known as ABC Tree Service) proprietor or representatives to respond to the Big Deal.  I requested a refund, which Angie's List was going to do immediuately.  To my utter amazement, on this same date (7 April 2011), Mr Irvin contacted me by phone and wanted to establish the service date.  With some apprehension, I agreed to a service date of 18 April 2011.  As a result, I then contacted Angie's List customer service, informed them of the new development and requested a delay on refund pending whether Tree Investment Corp. personnel would keep the scheduled appointment.  With satisfaction, Mr Irvin and his crew showed up at my residence on-time during the morning of 18 April 2011.  As well, with satisfaction, Mr Irvin's crew set about trimming the trees with great precision and efficiency.  Also, Mr Irvin spent some time recommending helpful tips on maintaining general tree health and care.   I was duly impressed with his knowledge about tree care. The overall work was completed within the allotted two hour time, which also enabled the crew to lightly trim a third tree on my side yard.  All tree limb debris was effectively recovered from the lawn.  My assessment of the work completed on-site was excellent, professionally carried out, and Mr Irvin and his crew were very courteous.  Were it not for the difficulty and frustration I encountered of getting Mr Irvin or any representative from his company to respond to my repeated attempts to schedule the service date I would have rated his company A's across the board.  I definitely got my monies worth for the work performed, but the time I had to spend trying to schedule the service date greatly diminished the overall value.  I do hope that under Tree Investment Corp.'s current name of ABC Tree Service, that responding to customer calls in a timely and respectable manner is of the highest priority.

"We contacted three "A" rated Angie's list companies for estimates.
All three responded quickly to our request and scheduled visits for the estimates.  All showed up on time to discuss the project and spent a good deal of time discussing our ideas and providing feedback and different alternatives.  One company was eliminated because, although we liked the landscape design, they did not do paver and we wanted to go with a firm that could do both the landscape and the hardscape.
What set Green Life apart from the competition was that the landscape designer, Jerry, provided not only an estimate and listing of the planting material to be used, but also a blueprint sized drawing of our property showing the location and design of the patio and planting beds.  Within each planting bed, the location and number of each type of plant was marked.  This made easy for us to visualize what the final product was going to look like and gave us an added measure of assurance that the money we were spending was going to result in something that was both visually appealing and functional.  Jerry also had a little surprise for us.  Although we had not previously discussed this, he had added a freestanding wall to a portion of the patio.  What a great idea.  It not only would look good and set the patio off from the rest of the yard, but it was also practical in that it would provide a nice place to sit.
We decided to proceed, even though the cost was a somewhat more than we had originally envisioned.
Work began early on a Saturday morning.  Jerry began by laying out the beds with spray paint.  Laines and his crew worked quickly, carefully and efficiently to remove the sod to expand the old planting beds at the front of the house and to create the new beds in the back yard.  They also began to remove the old shrubs and dig up the palm trees that were to be relocated.  In the meantime, a hugh flatbed truck showed up with the planting material.  The plants were rapidly unloaded and placed on the front lawn and a load-all was brought in to lift the trees off the truck and these were also placed on the lawn.  All of the plant material was of high quality.  When all of the sod was removed, the crew relocated the two palms from the front to the backyard and began planting the new trees.  At this point, Jerry began to place the remaining plants in the beds.  When he was satisfied with the location of the plants, the crew began planting.  By the end of the day, most of the front landscaping was complete and most of the plants were placed in the backyard beds but had not yet been planted.  The crew showed up the following morning to complete the planting and spread the mulch, which took most of the day.
Because the city requires a building permit for patios, the hardscaping could not begin until the following weekend.  Again, the crew showed up early and got to work immediately.  Construction of the patio and seating wall and small paver pad took almost the entire day; in addition, twelve additional azaleas were planted and more mulch was installed in the rear planting beds.  Laines came back on Sunday afternoon (Easter Sunday) to brush sand into the cracks between the pavers and to modify the irrigation sprinkler heads so that the new plants would get proper watering.
We were and continue to be extremely pleased with our experience with Green Life and their staff.  The installation crew was outstanding.  They worked very hard throughout every day of the project and cleaned up before they left for the day.  The landscape designer, Jerry, was at the job site every day to make sure that things were going according to plan and the owner, Joe, also stopped by each day to make sure that we were satisfied with how things were going.  The patio is a great addition to the backyard, giving us a nice area to entertain or just to sit outside an enjoy the beautiful new landscaping.  It is like our own backyard oasis.  Neighbors have also commented on how nice the new landscaping at the front of the house looks and many cars passing by slow down to admire the view."

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in Apollo Beach, FL

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
