"This company is absolutely wonderful beginning with the courtesy when I called to schedule an appointment the first time. Next Jack N who arrived at my home on time and as promised. He provided me estimate for the repair and went over every detail of it with me. When the crew arrived to do the job they were very professional and performed the job as promised. I have a large house that was built in 1902 and was NOT able to find anyone willing to tackle my problem. Acculevel came in and fixed every issue. My house has a tight crawl space but Acculevel was able to replace a beam and the sister joist. In addition provided support and leveled out my floor. This was done without needing to cut a hole in my floor. The results were immediate and my floor looks and feels wonderful. I immediately noticed the stability. I can not thank Acculevel enough for their hard work and reasonable pricing for my job. I would highly recommend them for all your foundation and stabilization needs. Super job Acculevel!!!! 10 stars"

"Patio with concrete steps had to be raised almost 6 inches. The team went out of their way to complete the job even during rain showers. Very happy with the result, which also solved a basement water issue. Clear, prompt estimate. Professional approach. Trust them as a family operation. More expensive than I expected, but after seeing the work, was definitely fair."

"It's been the rainy season so the job had to be rescheduled. They came on the rescheduled date. The job went very smoothly. The gentlemen working the job were very willing to discuss their progress and made sure we had a chance to ask questions as the job progressed. Our home was built in 1926 and is the house of thousand projects. This is one project we can happily say is one problem that has been solved."

"The asphalt driveway is beautiful!  I called Holland Paving in June and spoke with David Amicone, explaining we had a dirt driveway and wanted an asphalt driveway.  David suggested I contact a local company as they would probably have a better price since they would be local compared to Holland Paving being in Cleveland and the cost for equipment would include travel.  I did contact a local company whose salesperson returned my call a week and a half later and AFTER David called within the week to say he would be in the area and would stop to look at our drive.  David was punctual, professional, and knowledgeable.  He and I discussed the water issues we were having due to our home sitting lower than the street and offered several ways to alleviate the water coming into the garage from the driveway.  David advised we could have the turnaround swaled towards the drain and there would be a rise at the top of the drive where it would be higher than the street, in addition to installing an additional drain. He advised he would review his estimate with another estimator in the office and get back to me in several days with an exact cost.  I received the proposal within a few days and the price was very reasonable, $7000, minus the additonal drain, as it would not be needed.   <br /> Holland Paving contacted me with a date to install the driveway in July, and I advised we would not be ready for our driveway until mid-September as we were having other work done, such as landscaping, that needed to be completed before the driveway.  They were very gracious and would be in contact with me as that timeframe drew nearer.   David kept in contact with me and we arranged for the driveway to be installed the first week in October.   <br /> The crew came out and began their process of removing part of the concrete pad in front of the garage that had cracked and risen up.  Well to our surprise and theirs, the concrete that was to be removed was an enormous section of concrete that was approximately 3 feet deep by 2 feet wide and about 18 feet long.  The crew worked all day to dig this monstrosity out and came back the next day to break it up into 4 sections to be hauled away.  Needless to say, this increased the cost of the project due to the work and time the crew spent on the concrete section (2 days), which we completely understood and were grateful that they were able to take care of this for us.. <br /> After a couple days of rain, the crew came out to do the grading and the base was too soft, so we were delayed a few more days.  All the while, David was in contact with me and kept me apprised of when the crew would be out.  I had some reservation due to the rainy weather we were to get, but David assured me that they would not be installing the driveway in the rain. <br /> The driveway was installed and looks great!  Everyone at Holland Paving that worked with us, the crew, the office staff, and David were courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and skillful in their area of responsibility and did a fantastic job installing our asphalt driveway.  We couldn't be more pleased and impressed with this company and their employees! <br />"

"It went great. Tim was very friendly and gave a good estimate. He even came back to talk over the work with my dad. Larry and Brian were always at my place early. They are both hard workers. Larry was very considerate like when he asked if I wanted used gravel in the low areas of my driveway. He was very patient waiting for other contractors who needed to do work before he could move forward."

"There were positives and negatives in my experience with Slink's Masonry. <br /> Scheduling was a problem. When I first contacted Gary in May of last year, he was very up front that he was currently busy, but thought that he could look at the project in about six weeks or so. I was willing to wait, but after that, it was one slip after another, first just getting an estimate and then starting the work. The project was not underway until the beginning of October. The project was estimated at six weeks but ran closer to eight including some worked weekends, finishing up in late November on the cusp of bad weather. <br /> The other issue was project planning. Regardless of who's doing the work, I would simply not do another project like this without a more thorough project plan in the contract, including fairly detailed sketches with measurements. There was no contract beyond signing the estimate, which had a more general description of the work. This impacted most on the front steps, where both the riser height (8") and width (31") of the steps from the driveway to the landing don't match the riser heights (5 1/2") and widths (36") of the steps from the landing to the front porch. I don't know why the riser heights were done differently - they were all the same in the wood steps he was replacing, but after the molds were built (still prior to pouring the concrete), Gary gave me heavy resistance to changing it. The widths are off because he didn't take into account the depth of the stone veneer on the retaining walls to either side of the lower steps which extends into the step. Project planning was also an issue where the stone interfaced with other materials. The vinyl siding I had put in didn't terminate the way Gary wanted it - and while Gary will say the siding installer should have known better (quite possibly true), coordination would have been easier on my end if this was specifically spelled out in the contract. This was fixed by the siding installer at my expense. The Garage doors were replaced prior to Gary's work with new trim/weatherstripping installed, because he was going to stone up right up to the trim. When the wood beneath the trim had to be removed, the trim was destroyed and had to replaced, again at my expense. There was a tree blocking his access to the chimney which was taken down, which should also have been in the contract. He was unwilling to remove the stump. The height of the patio was higher than we discussed, so I had to have 10 cubic yards of dirt brought in to bring the level of the backyard up to meet it. Starting this Spring, the driveway (asphalt) has buckled all along the length of the retaining wall, because the driveway was hollowed out underneath when they dug the footer. I will have to have this tended to before this Winter. I think at least some of these issues/expenses could have been mitigated with better planning and a more detailed contract. <br /> Despite all of that, there were positives too. Gary is very meticulous and conscientious working with the stone itself. I'm very happy with the fit of the cultured stone install on the house and the flagstone on the back patio - it looks beautiful. I believe that what he has built is very solid construction that should hold up over the long haul. When he was building the retaining wall, the level was out on each block as he tapped it level. There's rebar in the concrete of both the back patio and front porch anchored into the house. He discovered into the project that there was not adequate support in the existing wood framed chimney to hold the weight of the stone, which I appreciate him bringing to my attention so it could be addressed. Gary will take input and is generally easy to work with, so long as you discuss things in advance before he's into the task. Just initiate communication early and often to make sure you're on the same page. <br />"

"I had looked around for a concrete driveway replacement crew for a while and heard about Web through a friend. They came in with a competitive price and were able to get the job in soon. The job took about 3 days to get the old driveway out, prepare a quality base and reinforcement, then pour and seal. They worked late into the evening to get it meticulously finished and looking perfect on the pour day. I have gotten many positive comments from neighbors since it was done last fall."

"I had a big name waterproofing company out several years ago that did work on two walls of my house and continued to have problems with leaking. They did come back a few times and tried to repair but never could get it sealed properly. After paying a annual fee to keep a warranty for a problem they couldn't repair I decided to get a few contractors out and look to get another opionon. Buckeye Waterproofing was by far the most experienced of them and explained everything that was going on so I and my son-in-law could understand and make sense. They told me what was needed to be done to repair what previous company did and what would be needed for the rest of the house. After sitting with Rick from Buckeye I had decided to have them do the work because he made me feel so comfortable with the work he would be doing and gave me the best price of the quotes we had. Everyone else wanted to do start from scratch and do previous work I had done over while Rick explained he could repair the work and save me some money since I had already paid for work years ago. The crew Rick sent was prompt, clean and very respectful of my house and I was extremely satisfied with work they did. It has now been 2 months since the work was done and everything has been dry with no issues at all on the new work that was done or the repairs to the old work that the other waterproofing company did and couldn't figure out how to repair. I would highly recommend this company to anyone and have already sent them a friend to have work done as well. <br />"

FAQs for concrete flatwork repair & resurface projects in Ashland, OH

When evaluating whether patching can address your concrete blemishes, it’s important to assess the extent of the damage. Minor issues such as small cracks or chipped areas may be effectively repaired with patching techniques that restore the surface’s appearance. However, if you notice widespread deterioration, significant cracks, or structural weakening, resurfacing is recommended as a more durable, long‑term solution. A thorough evaluation by a concrete specialist can help determine the best course of action for restoring your concrete to its optimal condition.

The optimal time to resurface your concrete driveway is late spring. This period benefits from warm temperatures and softened ground conditions following winter’s freeze‑thaw cycles, ensuring that the new overlay bonds securely and matures to a durable finish. Resurfacing at this time also enhances your property's safety and curb appeal. Engage a concrete professional to schedule your project during this ideal season.
