"I'm so happy with my roof. <br /> I have been watching it rain and see absolutely no drips, runs or issues!  The solar tubes were installed with expert care.  <br /> One of my solor tubes had an issue, so instead of installing it, they informed me and gave me the option to get a new one. <br /> Wayne and crew were great.  They were flexible to my schedule, and were easy to work with. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"I continue to be impressed with United Roofing Solutions. They installed a total new roof system on my home this past summer. <br /> This was done during that extreme heat wave which resulted in one of the skylight seals being heat expanded during the original installation. With the recent heavy rains this skylight developed a drip. A phone call to United resulted in a representative at my home within an hour and a half (are you kidding me?). He quickly diagnosed the problem, and the next morning they showed up with a crew and replaced ALL the skylight seals, no charge. When do you get service like this these days? Thanks, guys! <br /> Mark <br />"

"We had asked for the worst case scenario price for the roof and glad we did because that's what it ended up costing us but it could have been even higher except that the company stood behind their bid even when the cost of lumber, labor and disposal of old roofing material was more than they expected. Our roof presented some problems but they stuck to their bid! The work was done quickly--surprised us at how soon it was completed. Workers were for the most part non-English speaking but friendly and courteous and clean. As far as we know everything they said they were going to do to repair the roof was done. We are not roofing experts, nor did we verify that the work being done or material being used was what we had agreed to but we felt like the owner who met with us initially was honest and we trusted that we were being treated fairly and honestly. The area was cleaned before they left each night and cleaned after completing the job. Because they had to pull the old roof sheeting off, I went up into the attic afterwards and there was very minimal debris that was left behind--I had feared the worst but was pleasantly surprised. After I went up on the roof, there was one "soft" spot that I was concerned about. I called the owner and he came out a few days later to check on it. He said it was caused from the direction of the grain of wood on the sheeting and nothing to be worried about. I went back into the attic and could see nothing that looked like a flaw so once again, we have trusted that the owners explanation. He said that he would come back out in about 6 months to reinspect that spot. Happy about that offer! We have had some torrential rains since we got the new roof put on in September and so far--NO LEAKS which is a happy thing for me! Over-all, we were satisfied with the company, the work done and how we were treated."

"We researched several roofing companies before we decided to hire A-1 Roofing. My background as a Licensed Home Inspector gave me a more unique perspective of knowing what to ask and expect during our roof replacement. In my line of work I see a lot of shoddy roof installations, and was not about to shell out hard earned money on a junk roof. We had a really hard time getting roofing companies to come out to Ocean Shores and provide a bid. And we had a few that showed up, took measurements, and never heard from them again. We met Travis at a trade show in the convention center and he followed through with his promise for a bid. After comparing with the other couple bids we received, I felt that Travis and A-1 would be our best chance to get the roof we really wanted. The pricing was fair, and now that it is complete I can tell you they exceeded our expectations. They were one of the only companies that included ice and water shield in the valleys and around the perimeters for better protection against water intrusions. They actually hand nail which ensures they are not going to blow through the shingle. Metal edges around the perimeters... I can go on and on. Bottom line is they did a great job! Thanks to everyone at A-1 Roofing for a great job!"

"Response was excellent. They have a long backlog so had to wait a while to get on the calendar... but as soon as I engaged them they had a team come over and create a temporary solution until they could make it out to put on the real roof. Once my roofing day arrived they had the entire re-roof complete in 1 day AND they removed all debris associated with the project. Fantastic company!"

"I really like the roof I have on my house.  It really stands out as a nice roof in my modest neighbourhood.  I went with Interlock because the company uses the thickest gauge aluminium, has one of the best warranties, easy to maintain, is lead-free for future rainwater collection, and offered standing-seem for my solar array installation. An added benefit is that the roof qualifies for some energy efficiency tax rebate.  Interlock sales and HQ people worked with me when I went back and forth on getting a tubular skylight.  When I did decide to get my own SolaTube, they charged me a fair price for installation. The work crew guys were pleasant.  They brought extra material to my house.  When I saw something I didn't like, they replaced it without hesitation.  I asked, and they said that they only do Interlock installations. One of they guys started eating a weed that was growing in my yard which I had been trying to identify for months.  He told me the name and it was in one of my favoured plant species, sorrel!  What serendipity!  To top it off, when I notified them that the natural gas guy inspected my venting and said to change it, the repair man came down and fixed it for me.  No charge no hassles!  I sure hope that my next 50 years with Interlock are as smooth as the first"

"Our roof was leaking and I called one of the local roofing companies. They never showed up. Then I did Angie's list search and decided to go with Clark's Roofing. He came out, looked at the roof and was ready to start the job immediately. He explained what needed to be done and gave a job quote within a day. His team replaced the roof/gutters within a week in a frigid cold weather (it was January). They cleaned up everything. The roof looks great! Thank you. <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Chehalis, WA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
