"We had Sam, Bradley, and Mason assist us with a move from one part of King County to the other. They were kind, patient, professional, adhered to CDC COVID-19 guidelines, and made our experience much more pleasant. Moreover, Emma also helped us locate crating and packing materials for the move."

"I highly recommend using H2H Movers. This was the third time I used H2H. This time it was for an out of state move. I chose H2H for the out of state move primarily because I trust them. Second, I knew that they would handle my property with care. The movers went beyond and above. Not one complaint at all. A great, polite and honest crew."

"Hired Blankenship Movers to pickup furniture at House A, deliver it to House B, then take other furniture out of House B and deliver it to House C. I was extremely pleased with everything. First, Sean was very flexible in meeting my scheduling needs on pretty short notice. On the service day, Ronny (crew chief) called 45 minutes before arrival and arrived on time. The moves from A to B to C were handled pretty quickly and efficiently. The delivery at House B was challenging because of a twisting staircase to the second floor, but the guys worked hard to make it happen. They worked carefully, wrapped furniture well to protect it. All three guys were very pleasant and courteous. Ronny was terrific - explained everything and made it all happen smoothly. I would highly recommend Blankenship - and crew chief Ronny. Move date was Sep 2, 2020."

"Top notch white glove service all around. We hired Pro Express Moving with little notice as our new home in Florida become available a month early. Scrambling to find time to pack, Pro Express suggested to do the packing for us and honestly, it was a blessing. We worked out a timeline where we handed them the keys to our home in NJ the day before the move and we stayed at a hotel. We stopped by late in the afternoon on the day of the move and were pleasantly surprised on how perfect the packing of our things was. We left them and got a call from Pro when they were finished packing. We came back to do a walkthrough and everything was done better than expected. They scheduled the delivery to Florida per our timeline and arrived aas scheduled. They unpacked everything and it all arrived without a scratch. The managers and workers are super nice. The cost was as quoted with no surprises. This is our 6th move in 20 years and I wish I had used Pro Express with all of them. "

"These guys were great! I was moving from one side of the city to the other, and there was a big snow storm rolling in. They did out of their way to help us in a move and in all such tough conditions, everything was is safe and sound. Very friendly and professional, and got creative in getting all my stuff up the narrow, windy steps to my third floor condo. Appreciated!"

"Kelly worked with us from Beginning to End and was extremely professional and informative. We had the same driver (Jimmy) pick up in NY and deliver our household to FL. He was efficient, pleasant and professional and knew exactly what to do and when. He used two local people to assist with the unloading (Sean and Will.) Both of these men were knowledgeable and also professional. THANK YOU to Allied/Ideal Movers for having the BEST make our move go smoothly. I would not hesitate to recommend this company."

FAQs for out-of-state moving service projects in Chicago Heights, IL

How much money you need to live comfortably in Hawaii varies based on your housing preferences, transportation needs, and lifestyle. Many residents find ways to manage on moderate incomes by choosing less touristy neighborhoods and adapting to local living patterns. Creating a detailed budget that accounts for housing, transportation, groceries, and utilities provides a clearer picture of your specific requirements.

Living in Hawaii on $3,000 monthly is possible with careful budgeting and lifestyle adjustments. Success largely depends on housing costs, which vary significantly between neighborhoods and islands. Many residents find shared living arrangements or smaller accommodations in less expensive areas help manage expenses. Prioritizing necessities, limiting dining out, and embracing local recreational options that don't require significant spending can help stretch your monthly budget while still enjoying island living.

The hidden costs of moving to Hawaii often include unexpected shipping surcharges, agricultural inspection fees, and initial setup expenses. Many newcomers are surprised by delivery access fees for difficult locations, temporary accommodation needs while waiting for household goods, and higher utility deposits. Island-specific expenses like specialized pest control services and humidity-resistant storage solutions may also become necessary. Building a contingency fund of 10 to 15% above your estimated moving budget helps accommodate these unforeseen expenses.

How long it takes to ship household goods to Hawaii depends primarily on your chosen shipping method and departure location. Standard ocean freight often requires three to six weeks from mainland ports, with shared containers sometimes taking longer due to consolidation schedules. Air shipping dramatically reduces transit time to days rather than weeks, but at significantly higher cost. Many residents adopt a hybrid approach, sending essential items by air while allowing bulk possessions to follow by sea.

Whether you need special permits to move to Hawaii depends on the possessions you’re bringing. While American citizens don't need immigration documentation, certain items face strict regulation. Agricultural products, plants, and some animals require special permits or inspection certificates. Vehicle importation requires specific documentation and potential emissions testing. Large shipping containers may need delivery permits in certain residential areas. Consulting with transportation specialists familiar with Hawaii's requirements helps avoid compliance issues.

The items you’re prohibited from shipping to Hawaii include numerous plants, seeds, and fresh produce that might introduce invasive species to the islands' delicate ecosystem. Certain animals face strict prohibition, particularly snakes and other potential invasive species. Hazardous materials, firearms without proper documentation, and controlled substances cannot be shipped. Review current prohibited items lists from shipping companies and Hawaii's Department of Agriculture before packing, as regulations can change, and violations may result in significant penalties.
