"They did the job as agreed. The new posts look great. I highly recommend them for any fence work or landscaping. As an example of their work ethic, they worked until almost 9:00 PM the night before the last snowstorm. And it was cold and dark!"

"Not well, the owner had very poor communication skills! I called to arrange an appointment and never heard back from any personal of the company. Then two weeks after that call, the owner (Craig) and two employees randomly showed up with their equipment. They just started work in my backyard without confirmation that I still needed/ or wanted the work completed. I was alerted to this, by the loud noise of machinery. I looked out my window and saw a huge tractor in my backyard. I went outside immediately and spoke with Craig asking why he was here? Craig reminded me that I had left a message for the work to be completed. I reminded him I never heard back from anyone and no longer needed the services. They then proceeded to load up all of thier equipment. The whole situation was very unprofessional and bizarre!

"Called Tendercare and scheduled required inspection of back flow prevention valve. Service was performed, and a few days later the appropriate documentation for the valve testing arrived along with the invoice. Tendercare is a well ran business. They installed my sprinkler system 4 years ago, and I've never had a problem with it. They even came back and raised up some of the valve boxes after they settled. They stand behind their work."

"Dan at Simply Green did a great job with the design, the work and the communication.  He stands by his work - as he came back out to fix a small issue with the drip line hose in one area.  When the supplier encountered a back order for the blocks we wanted, Dan kept us informed and personally confirmed when they arrived.  Excellent work.  Excellent communication.

"When I talked to Mike on the phone the morning after I had left a message the day before to find someone to do the driveway snow removal, he indicated I would be his second job if he done the work. I said OK.
The price would be discussed when he arrived and surveyed the job. After seeing what needed to be done, he said his price would be $120.00 and hour and he should be able to do both drives in approximately 2 hours. (If he had an hourly rate, why wasn't it presented to me on the phone call.)
I said OK and the work began. He had arrived at 11:50 am and his co-worker started unloading an begin working while we discussed his pricing.
By 2:00 PM  they were finished and loaded back up and he was writing out his ticket.
He presented his ticket to me for $320.00 or $160.00 for each driveway and I asked if this was for 2 hours work,
His response was "Yes, as busy as I was yesterday, the price would have been $200.00 and hour."
With the work being done, I paid his bill, and he went on his way. I had no proof of what he had quoted me and felt as if I had to pay his bill.
Yes, I should have had him write down his quote as we discussed, so I've learned my lesson.
With him, it "BUYER BEWARE" for sure.....Always have a written quote.....

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Derby, KS

To calculate your paver needs:

  • Determine how many pavers cover a square foot.

  • Determine how many square feet you need.

  • Add an additional 10% to 20% for breakage and waste.

  • Consider your pavers’ sizes.

Or, you can hire a local pro who you know will get the right measurements the first time. This way, you get your weekend back instead of spending it measuring square footage.

A pallet of pavers costs $300 to $700 on average, and each pallet covers 56 square feet. The exact price depends on the type, size, and quantity of pavers you choose. Buying in bulk can sometimes offer additional savings, especially for larger projects. Ask your pro how you can save on material costs.

To get the best prices on pavers:

  • Hire a professional landscaper: Pros often receive discounts on materials, which can make hiring them more cost-effective overall.

  • Shop at local building supply stores: Check for overstock or bulk purchase deals. Bulk purchasing can be more costly up front but save you money in the long run.

  • Buy directly from manufacturers: Purchasing from a local brickyard or paver factory can offer competitive prices, especially for large quantities.

The main difference between driveway pavers and patio pavers is their load-bearing capacity. Driveway pavers are designed to withstand the weight of vehicles, whereas patio pavers aren’t suitable for such heavy loads. You can use driveway pavers for a patio, but using patio pavers for a driveway could lead to damage. Always check the weight limits of pavers and consult with a professional installer to choose the right type for your project.

Paver patios cost more than concrete patios because the materials and installation methods require advanced techniques and skilled labor. They deliver enhanced aesthetic appeal and allow for easier small‑scale repairs without affecting property taxes. The higher expense arises from premium paver materials and intricate installation processes that deliver long‑lasting durability and design flexibility. This robust solution provides notable benefits over concrete alternatives, making it a valuable investment for homeowners.
