Hey I’m Pavel, recently moved here from Georgia. I’ve working in construction since I was little with my Dad. I can do basically everything from A-Z but I specialize in cabinets(premade/ in the box that needs assembly, installation), LVP floors, baseboards, changing electrical fixtures(lights, outlets, switches, fans, chandeliers), changing plumbing fixtures (faucets, shower heads and handles), hanging your pictures or moving your furniture. Just tell me what you need and we’ll get it done!

"Russel Williams Home Services is my "go to" window cleaning, gutter cleaning, and Christmas lighting. I've been using them for years and I won't use anyone else. They do a great job and are very reasonably priced (with discounts for repeat customers). Most importantly, they're incredibly responsive with great customer service. I highly recommend their services."

"We loved our Limo ride with Travis driving us around the city seeing Christmas lights. There were six of us and plenty of space to have our treats and drinks. The ride was very comfortable and the inside of the limo was clean and beautiful interior/lights. The tour was 3 hours and took us to some amazing light displays. Our driver, Travis, was very accommodating, informative and stopped to allow photo ops. I would highly recommend this as a Christmas tradition."

"I was very happy with Sue's service, she came up with a design plan for most of my house in 4 hours on site at my home.  No further work is required, I can do the work slowly or quickly with her help or by myself, all at once or spread out over 20 years if I choose.  I liked her insight and feel if I ever move again, this is the first thing I should do. <br />"

"Bridget was on time and prepared to clean. she brought her own Green cleaning supplies as I requested and did not need to ask me for anything extra. Bridget was extremely thorough and she put everything back the way i had them. Also, I asked for her help arranging my kitchen and bathroom cupboards and drawers and was very impressed with her organizing abilities and overall performance. I will definitely have Bridget clean and organize for us again. <br />"

"Richard did a great job of cleaning off our roof. We had a lot of tree branches and leaves on our roof. He removed them all and blew the leaves and debris off. He also shoveled the debris out of the valley on our roof. He was very friendly and were very happy with the work."

"Preston spent hours cleaning our cedar shake shingled roof that had been neglected for years.  He used a power washer to remove the algae build up and after it dried for a few days, he returned to replace a few shingles and apply a sealer.  Our roof looks brand new and we are very happy with the result. <br />"

FAQs for holiday lighting add or remove projects in Forest Lake, MN

If climbing ladders or handling wiring isn’t in your comfort zone, hire a pro. Look for installers who post clear per-foot or hourly rates, carry insurance, and have solid reviews. Comparing at least three quotes helps you spot fair pricing without sacrificing safety. Skipping credentials to save a few dollars can cost you far more in repairs, so pick a qualified team and enjoy a safe, eye-catching display.

Yes, booking between February and September often scores lower rates because demand is light and pros have open calendars. You might even negotiate a discount package that includes removal or storage. If the budget is tight, ask whether a handyperson or an off-season permanent-light install makes sense for your home and timeline.

Determining the number of holiday lights for your house depends on your home’s size and specific decorative vision. Your project requires 10 to 20 light strands for a basic exterior display, with 100 lights allocated for eaves and an additional 10 to 20 bulbs for each awning.

For trees and substantial shrubs, allocate five to 10 strands per unit to achieve complete and balanced illumination across your property.

Tipping isn’t mandatory, but it’s a nice way to thank your installer for a job well done. Most homeowners offer 10% to 20% of the total bill or round up to an even figure if the crew exceeds expectations. A small extra goes a long way toward showing appreciation—and may help you snag priority booking next season.

Yes, you can install holiday lights yourself if your property layout is straightforward and your electrical system is secure. Homeowners who are confident in their ability to safely handle wiring and use proper equipment can save money with a DIY approach.

However, it is crucial to test all outlets thoroughly and secure the proper ladders and safety gear before starting. Careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to protect yourself and your home while achieving an attractive display.

Start by clearing the area of loose debris, damaged shingles, and anything that could trip you up. Test outdoor outlets and, if you’re unsure, bring in an electrician. Use a sturdy extension ladder (or scaffolding for very high spots) and never work alone—having a helper steady the ladder is non-negotiable. Taking these simple steps keeps you, your roof, and your new lights safe.
