"I hired Carlos Guzmán (Guzman Landscaping) for a $500 yard cleanup, with a written scope of work agreed by email. Before he began, I explained the proven methods my family has used for over 40 years to maintain the yard, including using tarps to gather leaves, placing leaf piles at the far corner, and collecting acorns for County pickup. He assured me he would leave the yard perfect and said he would call me if he had any questions. After the job, I found many areas left unfinished: acorns remained across the yard, crushed leaves were left on the ground, and debris was not removed from the fence line and backyard. I emailed him respectfully and asked him either to return to complete the work or let me know if he preferred not to continue. Instead of responding by email, I received several text messages demanding payment, including instructions to send money to his address or have my bank mail a check. I later received additional messages from the Angi relay number that appeared to represent Angi, adding to the confusion. As a senior customer, the tone and timing of these messages were upsetting. I am seeking a resolution through Angi so this matter can be handled professionally and safely."
