"I had a badly leaking house roof with 35 year old shingles. Called CRP and spoke with the owner, Mr, Rob Foster. He came out asap, we walked the roof and I received a detailed estimate two days later. He answered all my questions via phone and email promptly. He was very congenial and we had an immediate personal connection. Rob, Jeff and their crew arrived at 8 a.m., replaced all questionable wood and reshingled. They also installed some additional, necessary down spouts. All debris was cleaned up and they were finished by 2 p.m. All replacement materials were quality as specified in the original estimate. The crew were hard workers, did not take any breaks and did a beautiful job. I am very satisfied and would certainly recommend CRP. Good guys."

"They completed a complete roof teardown and putting new shingles on in a single day.  Over the weekend more high velocity wind hit the area and they came out the next day to check and make sure everything stayed in place.  They did everything without requiring any money upfront to start or complete the work.  R&R Roofing is a true roofing company that not only does the work, they did it correctly without cutting corners to meet the insurance quote.  They also kept me informed with everything that was going on.  Truly a professional company and a great company to work with."

"DC Roofing & Exteriors did a fantastic job of working with our insurance to get most of this project covered when we had been denied by them twice. Once on the job they were great. They took our old roof off, fixed some boards underneath, and put the new roof on in the same day. Our gutters were done a week or so later. It all looks great."

"The technician was on time and professional. He climbed up on the roof and examined it. He reported that there was no damages, but a couple of shingles needed repair. He repaired the loose shingles for no charge This service gave me great confidence in the firm. I would use them in the future."

"Since I have had some bad contractor experiences, deciding to completely remodel the bathroom was very stressful to say the least. I received 5 different quotes from reputable companies and after reading the previous reviews, receiving a quote in timely manner and the professional way Chris handled himself, I decided that Johnson & Johnson would be the best choice. There's no doubt I made the best decision all around - quality, fair pricing, and a crew that was conscientious of keeping the area as clean as possible. My home is old (1915) and with that comes some challenges - the floor wasn't level and the walls are plaster. I had no shower and only a claw foot tub, build in drawers that weren't working so well. All of this was removed and a new shower/tub combination, linen cabinet, built in niche, vanity and level floors installed! It is an absolute beautiful and well functioning bathroom! They all really care about what they do - that's what makes the difference and it is obvious in the quality of work. The last week of final touches of the bathroom, I asked them to replace all the water supply lines in the house - again this old house syndrome 1915 galvanized pipe. I have used a few plumbers in the past but now I know who I will contact if I need one. Doug did such a great job, kept everything clean as possible and now I don't need to worry 'if' a pipe will fail. Now, for bathroom #2! I attached the best before picture I have and after photos. FYI - The mirror over the vanity is an old mirror I had. I procrastinated on that decision but it will be replaced with a new appropriate size mirror."

"An absolutely outstanding experience with our roof installation. A hard working, professional crew, respectful of our property and committed to excellence. The on-site supervisor kept us appraised of the progress being made and texted pictures documenting the work completed and in progress. Cannot recommended RCV more strongly. . "

"We researched many roofing products & several local roofing companies before deciding upon Cornett. Their HD powdered-coated metal shakes were our first choice for looks & also offered best quality of materials & warranty, even their "standard" 5V was a better quality than what others were selling. It took about 2 wks to schedule the quote apparently due to the amount of roof damage from recent local storms. Our project was started in a timely manner about 2 wks after signing the contract & took 3 days to complete all 3 buildings. The office & crew were very polite. The crew kept the jobsite tidy & worked long days. There were some hiccups along the way & we feel that inter-departmental communication could be improved upon. Most of the crew was ESL so perhaps there was a language barrier involved, too. In addition, there was an incident of what seemed like poor planning based on the weather forecast while finishing other parts of the roof rather than the part on the house that was still open requiring tarps overnight. All that being said, once our concerns were relayed to the proper person, the issues were addressed & resolved in a very timely manner. A couple of issues also popped up soon after the job was completed & we were pleasantly surprised that those were also promptly resolved. The only issue that we are still not quite sure of is if the crew was actually Cornett employees or subbed. We specifically asked if they were subs during the quote & we also asked the spokesman for the crew & were told they "work for Cornett". What is strange is that there was a miscommunication or misunderstanding about removing gutters for the roof installation & the crew asked if they were going to replace the gutters, too. However, at the time of the quote, we were told that there wasn't room to negotiate the gutter quote because that was subbed out. Based on that info, a reasonable conclusion is that if the same crew that installed the roof was also going to install gutters then they would appear to be subs. We suspect that the "crew leader" is an employee of Cornett so technically that is why we were told they do not use subs. As it turned out, even if they were subs, they did a good job, which was our concern about using subs in the first place, but we would have liked more transparency in the details. We absolutely love the look of our new roofs, esp the shakes, & have had several compliments on our "new house". Most importantly, we have had several rainstorms over the last month & there has been no sign of leaks & we can expect no shingle damage for the next 50 yrs. We highly recommend Cornett. <br> <br>"

"He did an excellent job. Very detailed, particular, and trustworthy. My roof pitch is so steep that the insurance company had to send an adjuster from Florida to do an assessment. Some roofing companies looked at the Google maps specks and said they couldn't help me. Purcell Roofing not only was able to do the job, they did an excellent job considering the circumstances. He also did a thorough job of cleaning up afterwards. My roof is beautiful. I couldn't be more pleased."

"Jim came out to assess the situation.  I was getting estimates for a kitchen remodel and the first step is to remove a wall.  Jim came out to see what he could do and assessed that it was a load bearing wall.  He took measurements and we discussed the project.  He told me he would let me know in a few days after he talked with some of his contacts. <br /> He wrote me back a few days later letting me know that he didn't feel comfortable taking on this project.  He had never done a project requiring structural considerations, so had to decline.  I feel this was extremely professional as he would prefer to tell me up front that he couldn't do the job rather than getting a week in and letting my roof cave in or something. <br /> He gave me the contact information of a couple of other contractors in the area who would be able to satisfy my needs.  I have actually decided to go with one of his suggestions to move forward with my project. <br /> While I, personally, would probably not call him again, I'm sure that he would do a great job with simpler remodels, installing cabinetry, trim work, etc. <br /> Even though we weren't able to work together, it was a pleasant experience overall. <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Nashville, IN

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
