"Let me preface this that the whole house is travertine, no carpet at all. Very beautiful, and we thought this would be much easier to take care of versus the bamboo floors in our previous house.
My wife and I just moved into our new (to us) house a few weeks ago. As we were cleaning up from the previous owners we discovered that the floors even after mopping were dirty still. Upon doing some research we discovered that travertine is sensitive to pH and acid levels in the cleaners, and not as easy to take care of as we thought.
I contacted Billy after finding him on AL, and he came out and did an estimate. Needless to say he was very surprised about the amount of travertine in the house too. Approximately 2900 sq. feet of it. Billy explained the cleaning process and tested the sealer currently on the floors. He was very honest about the expense to clean all of the floor at once, and we decided to do just the master bath and bedroom first to see how it came out. Billy gave us a break on the price to help with the "sticker shock" of cleaning the whole house.
It was a two day process for cleaning on day one, and sealing on day two. Billy showed up at the time quoted, and was very courteous and worked quickly.
The floors came out great. Honestly if you just glance at the floors they look the same as the rest of the house; but when you look closely at the travertine joints compared to the rest of the house, and feel the travertine, this is where you can tell the difference. The travertine in the master and bath joints are clean, and is much smoother. The rest of the house, even though it has been mopped multiple times, the travertine seems gritty, where the master is smooth.
I am very happy with the work performed, and would definitely recommend Billy to anyone who needs their floors cleaned. We will be having him back in the next few weeks to do the kitchen and living room travertine!
