"We were delighted to find that Eric came over right away and said he could start work soon, as others had indicated a wait of over a month and up to two months. He said he was going to do our small job in a break he had between big ones. However, it was difficult to get him to put his words into writing (estimate/description of work), and even when he did, it needed amendment. Even worse, when we did need additional work, he never put it in writing even when I asked, and when he asked for payment, it was a thousand dollars more than we expected. To his credit he offered to remove the extra charge, but we decided to pay it. It all should all have been in writing so that we were all on the same page before starting the work! I also had to remind him when he said he had emailed stuff like the initial contract and our final receipt, but had not sent them. Also Eric told us that we absolutely HAD to do things a certain way, and he even wanted to redo the repair we had done previously to fix that. Then, ironically, there were parts his crew did in which they failed to do what he had said was essential, and he didn't even notice when he inspected the work. Also, he complained bitterly about having to travel a long way for the materials, but didn't measure before going to get them, so they installed metal edging of the wrong size as well as having to totally redo an area of siding. The work, ultimately, was acceptable, though. Lastly, I was embarrassed by his yelling at his workers in front of me. They seemed to be trying to do things as he requested, but he was impatient and sharp with them consistently. My mother always said you get more flies with honey than vinegar (!), and getting and keeping good employees is always an issue in any business. I believe that he wants to do a good job and is capable of it, but needs to approach this with more professionalism."

"Took a shot at Rain Proof Roofing based on the positive reviews at the time on my search. Mike called me to setup a visit within 48-hrs of my submitting my request for quote. When he came to inspection/survey my roof, he found several sun damaged/installation mistakes on several flapper vents and roof vents, as well as vent stake seals. The total time on roof was less than 30-mins. He showed me some images of the issues and we discussed to paths, just replace the vents with issues or replace all of them. I went with replacing all vents with metal (existing ones were plastic). Mike got the proposal to me within 7-days. I compared with responses to the other two vendors I selected and Mikes was the best. The repair date was set and repairs were performed 3-weeks after the inspection. Chris was methodical in his work on replacing the vents and seals. It took him about 4 hours to complete the work (2-hours over the estimate). Chris explained that it took longer than he expected due to issues with a few of the vents and is strive to complete the work effectively. When complete, he showed me several of the removed vents/covers to show issues not seen during the inspection. Total: $2,500 This is a small company and this added to their drive to do top-tier work."
