"I had a serious mainline backup at my home in Sedona and reached out to City Plumbing and Rooter—and I’m really glad I did. They showed up exactly at the time we scheduled, which I appreciated right away. They quickly got to work, snaking the line to clear the blockage and then doing a camera inspection to make sure everything was fully cleared and flowing properly. That extra step gave me a lot of confidence that the problem was actually fixed and not just temporarily pushed through. They were professional, knowledgeable, and respectful of my home the entire time. Everything was explained clearly, and there were no surprises. You can tell they know what they’re doing and take pride in their work. If you’re dealing with a mainline backup or any plumbing issue in Sedona, I highly recommend City Plumbing and Rooter. Reliable, on time, and thorough—exactly what you want in a plumber."

"Red Plumbing is the only plumbing company I use. From the very beginning of scheduling, the ladies in the front office are extremely professional and have great attitudes. Even if the lines are busy and cant get to you, they call back! Not like any other service, that is a nightmare to have anyone call back. Once the scheduled date was here I am always greeted by the Technician and they are always professional. Since I have lived in this home I have always used RED Plumbing to do any work. They are great to work with, professional, and honest. I never feel taken advantage of for any of the work that has been needed. No job too small or too big. Red Plumbing is the best service in town, hands down!!! THANKS AGAIN RED PLUMBING!!!"

"I first contacted Scott via email late at night expecting to receive a response no earlier than the following morning, but Scott surprisingly responded immediately letting me know he would call me during the day. Scott discussed the pros, cons, and financial options of each water treatment system, sent an email with all of the corresponding information, then scheduled a visit to further discuss them in reference to my household’s specific needs. As a former chemist and current physician, I was impressed with Scott’s ability to explain the mechanisms of water treatment and conditioner systems in detail without using excessively technical terms or condescending. Compared to the other three companies from which we received estimates, Lifewater gave us the most professional yet personable service for the best price. We ultimately decided to purchase a whole house water treatment system. The night prior our scheduled installation, my husband decided we should add an RO system and Scott was able to accommodate our last minute request. He even returned the day after our installation to replace the RO filter in spite of the fact that it was not initially installed due to miscommunication on my part. Without a doubt, I highly recommend Lifewater Solutions."

"Bill did a great job and really hustled to complete all the jobs in just a few hours, including a rebuild on the toilet. We have an older home (built in 1970) that posed a few challenges but we are very pleased with the quality of the work and the price."

"Another satisfied customer of Briggs Plumbing. When our water heater gave up the ghost, Briggs was able to diagnose and replace the faulty water heater in one day. I think the service is excellent and would not hesitate for a second to use them again or to recommend to others."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Prescott, AZ

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
