"Highly skilled professional and considerate employees made the entire process smooth. I have recommended Haight's Roofing for 26 years. This is my second roof and I was happy to work with them, again. Great company, great people. Thank you!"

"I recently purchased an older home that needed a roof replacement. After doing a bit of online research, I contacted Tekline based on the amount of positive reviews the company had received. I received a response within 48 hours of contact and set up a site appointment. The site inspector was able to provide answers to all of my questions and detailed the job process if i were to go with Tekline. The pricepoint was fair. Not the cheapest but also not unreasonable. What i really appreciated about Tekline (and in my opinion what really sets this company apart) is the level of communication between them and the client. After deciding to move forward with Tekline, i received a phone call from Aly at the office every morning during the job dates. Aly checked in with me to give me an idea of what to expect for the particular day, as well as answer any questions/yielded feedback for the previous work day. The scheduling process was prompt and easy. They were able to flex their schedule to accommodate my timeline. The only hiccup here, was the original start date. The starting date got pushed back one day due to a previous job taking longer than expected. The actual work process was pretty seamless. Prior to the start day, a honeybucket was brought to my property so the workers didn't require access to the inside of my home. My foreman, Javier, was polite and answered all of my questions. He gave me an end time for each day and provided me an overview of what to expect. My entire roof replacement took two full days of work, which included chimney flashing and cleanup. After the job was complete, the owner, Scott visited my home to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. Scott is really down to earth and even offered to have his crew come back to fix a leak in my gutter free of charge. To my surprise, his crew came back the very next day to have my leaking gutter fixed. Excellent customer service. Prior to writing this review, i even received a 'thank you' package from Tekline which included a coffee mug and a few goodies. If all my contracting experiences were as great as my experience with Tekline, life would be so much easier. I can't recommend Tekline enough!! If you're looking for a roof replacement - give them a call to set up an informational!"

"I had a new roof done by North Creek Roofing and I found excellent customer service for all my interactions with the company. The people I spoke with included the following: Chris Cunningham (estimator) who took time with detailed answering of questions in-person and by email, had top-of-the-line follow up, maintained a positive attitude with numerous detailed questions (and returning in-person to show me the static vent they would be installing), and put together an excellent, easy-to-read proposal (the best proposal I received from several roofers); to John Frazier (Operations Manager) who chose the work team for the new roof and had excellent follow up with questions and resolving issues; Jose (headed up the work crew and worked on the roof); Sonny (follow up on bird spikes and roof inspection); Erica (billing); Diane (production); and Candy (administrative assistant)."

"A+  They did a superb job! <br /> We had our roof replaced <br /> recently by Anderson Roofing.  They did a <br /> 100% superb job from beginning to end.  <br /> We had a torch down roof done with a granulated membrane on top, and <br /> they replaced the downspouts.  We were <br /> given different options at different price points.  I liked that.  <br /> We also had options with the vents that we added. <br /> Greg, the owner has a <br /> top-notch crew working for him.  <br /> Everything was explained in detail. The team of roofers were <br /> professional, friendly, and on time.  <br /> They take great pride in making sure things are clean and safe <br /> throughout the process and also when they are finished.  Any issues or questions we had were <br /> immediately resolved.  Scott came out and <br /> did some additional downspouts for us.  <br /> He also did excellent work.  <br /> Melody, the office/billing manager really knows her stuff; friendly, <br /> knowledgeable, and dependable. I hope all the other companies we have to deal <br /> with in our long list of house projects are as good as Anderson Roofing.  We highly recommend them! <br />   <br /> <br />"

"Excellent. Turn around was quick. They kept me up to date when their schedule changed or they needed extra materials. Price was as agreed and work was high quality. They cleaned up after themselves and they masked the painting around trim and the floors well. Gave me a break on price because I already had some sheetrock on hand. They also did maintenance and repair on my gutters and drainage on short notice with quick turnaround."

"Got the referral to Water Wise from Valentine Roofing, since they don't do roof repair.  Was very glad that they sent some one else.  Dan from Water Wise did a thorough job looking at the roof from all places; he gave me a quote promptly and was very patient explaining what was going on with my roof. He doesn't need deposit, just a signed form.  <br /> On the day of, he showed up exactly the time he said he will.  Started diagnose where the leak started from.  Finished the job within time frame and then some.  Was very considerate; and was patient when I quizzed him on the condition of my second home's roof.  <br /> Why replace the whole roof when repair for less than a quarter of the price will fix the problem and extend the life of your roof for a very long time. <br /> I have began recommending Dan to other friends. <br />"

"We have a “huge” roof, about 7,800 square feet and knew it was going to be expensive. We also didn’t want to incur expensive periodic maintenance charges to clean and treat a cedar roof and wanted to reroof with some sort of synthetic slate or shake. Slate was preferred because it would better complement the stone exterior of our home. To that end we selected DaVinci Roofscapes Single-width Slate Brownstone-VariBlend. Note that at the beginning of the proposal process it was uncertain if our HOA would allow a synthetic slate or shake material or require us to reroof with cedar shake, so all roofing contractors were asked to give us proposals for synthetic slate as well as cedar shake. DaVinci Roofscapes was very helpful in providing local Redmond, WA addresses where their product had been installed as well as addresses in Southern California (where we were going for a visit) to help us choose the color. As a result, we could not be more pleased with how the project turned out and have received many complements from our neighbors on our new roof. Regarding the proposal process: Five roofing companies were asked for proposals and all five showed up to look over the job. One company chose not to give us a proposal despite repeated requests. We made the mistake of mixing roof replace with skylights. This made it impossible to compare apples (roofing) with oranges (skylights) because we have a complex roof structure that the required a general contractor to handle the skylights. The first roofer was asked to delete all the skylight work and just give us a proposal for the reroof, but we never heard from him again. He did mention that he could/would not compete with Elite. Another’s proposed price was so far out of line (high) that I called to ask if some mistake had been made. No mistake I was told, just a price that was well over 50% higher than any other! Another roofer worked with EcoStar recycled rubber, but not with DaVinci. Three factors caused us to choose Elite Roofing & Remodel: 1. Experience with DaVinci synthetic slate. Elite installs more DaVinci roofing than any other contractor in Washington and have an excellent relationship with the factory in Kansas. 2. Price (less expensive for DaVinci synthetic slate, but would have been more expensive by about $5,000 for cedar shake) 3. Patience and thoroughness by Philip in answering all my detailed questions about materials to be used and how the job would be done Per our agreement with Elite, the job began right on time October 10th. Roofing, plywood decking and all other material as well as dumpster were delivered as promised. Even though October was one of the rainiest on record, the job was completed on-time. Coordination with the skylight contractor was excellent. Cleanup was thorough. From the proposal process with Philip, to the install with Leo and crew (very professional!), to the final inspection with Brian, Elite’s performance was excellent."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Redmond, WA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
