"I moved to my house 4 years ago and have neglected the lawn. Subsequently, I had completely lost control of it as it had creeping charlie, violets, dandelions, and thin spots all over. After checking Angie's List, I called Band Kand left a message asking for an estimate at my address. After scoping my lawn, the owner left a message with an estimate at $65 per application (based on 15,000 ft2). When I called him, he was very courteous and offered me several options as far as weed control only or fertilization as well. We agreed to have them do 6 treatments. He said that next year, it might not need that much, but this year it probably will to get it under control. After talking to others about their lawns, 6 treatments seems appropriate.
He explained their billing process, how long to stay off the grass, etc. It took a week from when we talked to when they got to my lawn.
All weeds are already wilting, so he definitely used the right stuff. After hearing so many horror stories about the Trugreen hard sell and them killing plants and trees, Band K are a breath of fresh air.

One thing I want to point out again is that I talked to the owner; he did the estimate, he made the sale, he did the work. In my experience, if you get an owner, you're gonna be in pretty good hands. Any time I find a contractor where the owner goes out and does the work, the work is high quality.

As far as price, I think $65 is very reasonable given the size of my yard (15K ft2 is about .35 acres - so it's a pretty good size yard). I will continue to update this review as applicable as the summer goes on. So far so good!"

"Their customer service they have automatic calls, telling you what they are going to do, and when they are going to come. A lot of the times, they use different services then what they say they are going to do. Just the customer service does not match what some of the services are. I like my lawn the way it looks and all, I just think customer service stinks. I can't really blame it on customer service, but the service you call, I would rather speak to an live person. The quality is good, beside what the lawn looks like. The lawn looks great. I'm looking to save money, because I am retired, so I might do it myself. I would recommend them to anybody."

"Very quick to schedule and complete job. Offered and applied weed spray to lawn for free. Ryan was a pleasure to work with (clear, honest, friendly). Covered roof to protect against unexpected rain. Flexible regarding design decisions. Didn't have perfect understanding of soffit ventilation, but good enough. Hip caps were slightly crooked, but not visible from the ground. Left a fair amount of old nails/asphalt in the gutters/bushes, but I was willing to do some cleanup to save cost."

"Initially they told me that they would get someone here visually every year just to look inside the house; they have not done that from the last two years. I might have to call them and ask them if that policy has changed. They come around in April-May and June-October when the termites are there. When it is cold out here nobody comes around. They had put in a different type of trap initially and every once in a while I have called them when my lawn mower has broken; they have sent someone right away and have replaced it. They have been pretty good. They leave a slip in for me every month informing me that they have been here and that’s about it. They have been very professional whenever I have spoken to them but I have not spoken to anyone lately. My overall experience with them has been good."
