Comment: I have 200A residential service (APS) and I am planning a large, expandable solar array (mounted on a roof and a future patio structure) which will eventually exceed the NEC-allowed 40A rating for a backfed panel breaker. To keep installed costs as close to $2.50 per Watt as possible (above which solar does not have a good ROI), I plan to obtain permits and APS agreements, and do most of the work myself as allowed under Arizona Revised Statutes.
