We are also in the middle of a renovation project for our game room and that included the installation of a sliding glass door where a window was. The door install required that a steel lintel be moved up to accommodate the height of the new door. We were very fortunate that we called Michener Chimney and Masonry to come and have a look. They came out in a timely fashion and gave their estimate to us in just a few days. Once we agreed to get the work done, Jim and his team from Michener began the work quickly. I?m concerned water, ice, expansion, contraction will still occur in those areas. They did a great job installing two stainless steel flue liners, one for the fireplace and one for the gas furnace, replacing the furnace pipe connection, and neatly closing up the entrance to the chimney wall. Repaired the top cap, installed top plates to lining system and installed two rain caps to prevent water, animals and debris from getting inside. On the outside of the chimney, repaired and replaced seven bricks with new mortar. Repaired crown with crown seal and attached new flashing at roof. Waterproofed chimney. Cleaned up all debris inside and out Very personable and efficient team. I am very happy with the work done on my 50 year old chimney."
