"Mottern did a fantastic job designing and installing a large flagstone-on-concrete patio for us. The work included excavating and leveling the site, pouring and re-enforcing the slab, and selecting and purchasing the stone, brick and other materials. In addition to the patio, Mottern also filled in an approx. 12 sq/ft section of brick wall where a door had been converted to a window. The filled-in brick and mortar matches the original 50-year old wall perfectly. Overall, the entire Mottern crew was prompt, responsive, professional, and very skillful. "Wow!!! This was not an easy project to describe and bid, largely because what we were trying to accomplish is quite unique. The property had a tricky change of elevation and undulation, and as far as materials, we wanted to blend the stone into an already existing stone garden design already on the property and adjacent to the to be installed fence. We wanted carderock stone that was identical in size and color pattern to what we had already - this is not as easy as simply going to the same quarry, which First Impressions gladly did. It is really a job that requires great skill and attention to detail to match the new wall perfectly, which they did. From start to finish, there were no issues. I was most impressed with four things - 1) the finished product, which completely blew us away, 2) the professionalism and integrity of the entire crew - from Mike the very thoughtful designer and primary point of contact who figured out how to make our vision work on the property (he brought a few very good suggested changes as well), to John the onsite project manager, to the stone layers, the wood workers and the lighting installers - they each wanted to make the customer happy, and obviously took great pride in their work, 3) the price, which was around 10 percent less than two other real bids, and 4) the reasonable time to completion, clean/tidy work site, and respectfulness toward our neighbors throughout the few week project. For us, this was our first sizable home project - Mike and John made use very comfortable throughout that our personal investment in our property was being taken very seriously by each of them - we felt that they wanted it to look even better than we did, which is a great feeling. When you get a better product than you could have imagined, that is hassle free and reasonably priced, it is tough not to be happy with the experience. I have nothing but positive impressions of First Impressions, and would very happily work with them again.

"Mr. Minor (Melvin) came to our home and did an excellent job removing all of the grass from the area between our stone patio pavers, and then he proceeded to fill in those cracks with a sealant to prevent any further growth of grass & weeds in the patio area. He also applied a protective coating over the patio. He arrived on time and worked efficiently. The patio looks great now--better than new! We are definitely pleased with his work. "During the estimate visit, the consultant was very thorough and explained in detail the process of all the work that would be done--something that three previous contractors we'd gotten estimates from had neglected to do. They were also considerably less expensive than all three of the other contractors, despite the estimate including higher quality materials (paving stones versus poured concrete). The project start time came very soon after the contract was signed and the work was finished within the time frame they had estimated. During the process, Diversified Contractors was available to answer questions.
We were very satisfied with the finished project and will likely use them again in the future.

"I am very pleased with the work from Elijah, his team led by Victor, and Cassella Landscaping. I hired them to replaced old rotting timbers of the wood trim of the yard of my townhouse. I have never hired a hardscaping contractor and most photos from others are of stone work. After emailing a few contractors, Elijah was very prompt to respond but I ended up going with a different contractor because our schedules lined up sooner. This ended up being a disaster - we ended up having the first contractor pull up the poorly laid timbers so we could start over from scratch. I ended up reaching out to Elijah again, and he was so professional and courteous. He answered all my questions, gave me multiple quotes, and was flexible with the price after our neighbors decided they did not want us replacing the timbers that were on their property line. Elijah worked us into their schedule promptly, and his crew paid great attention to detail, even offering to fill in the gap in our driveway left by installing the timbers straight with asphalt! His crew led by Victor was very communicative, checking in with me in the middle of the project to make sure I was satisfied before proceeding further. One issue I had with the first contractor I worked with was he cut awkwardly small pieces of wood to save on buying more wood. Victor cut nice long piece - and even went out to buy another plank of wood in the middle of the project to make sure it looked nice. They definitely do not cut corners! The price they quoted was higher than the first contractor, but I felt it was reasonable, and they definitely are worth it, especially given how professional and responsive they were to work with, and their expertise and attention to detail during the installation. Overall, I can't recommend them enough! I will definitely be reaching out to them again if any other projects come up!"
