We had Roger and several other masonry contractors out in the spring to give bids on the above described work, and were surprised by how high all the quotes were, so we decided to hold off doing the work until later in the year. While Rogers Masonry was not the lowest of the bids, it was competitive. But what really made Roger stand out over the several months between bidding and hiring was his clear knowledge about, and genuine passion for, the work that he does (he's been in the business since 1976 and his lead crew member has been with him for 20 years!). But even more impressive was Roger and team's vast experience working on grand homes throughout the historic Cathedral Hill neighborhood of Saint Paul, and the fact that they actually enjoy working on these older homes?a quality that's increasingly difficult to find in contractors anymore. "The project went smoothly and efficiently. Greg was great with returning phone calls and being adaptable to the work schedule of me and my spouse. It was a daunting project requiring excavation of an old concrete patio, repairing some foundation on the house, laying a newer bigger paved patio with concrete slab on the side, and also a paved stairway with stone steps going up a hill. Everything turned out even better than expected. He is also true to his word about repairs and the warranty of the patio. A few months after the project ended, we had to have a small portion of the patio pulled up for some electric line work. He had his crew come out to level, lay, and tamp the patio stones back into place free of charge. Would highly recommend."

"Kingscapes was one of the first companies to respond for my request for a bid to replace a retaining wall that had been damaged by an automobile accident. They were also one of the cheapest. However, their low price did not at all reflect on the quality of the final product. They were able to get my project in even though it was fairly late in the season. The crew showed up on time, worked hard, and were very professional. The new wall is much better than what it replaced."

"We hired Tom Sirek and his hard-working team to fix a recurring problem with a large sinkhole in our front yard. They also completed reconstructed our retaining wall and front steps. We had previously hired a different business to repair the hole, but their repairs were ineffective and had to be totally redone by Sirek Landscaping. There were several challenges to this project along the way, but Tom and his crew perservered and we are so delighted with the end results. We have received numerous compliments from neighbors and people passing by. Even the mailman left us a nice note about how great everything looks! Becuase we live in the city, the work space was very constricted, but Tom's crew was extremely careful and respectful of our neighbors' space. They even preserved my boulevard garden! The problem with the hole ended up being much more serious than any of us had realized, but Tom and his workers were able to repair it and to constuct an underground drain connected to our rain gutters to prevent future erosion from rainfall. Our brick retaining wall is absolutely beautiful and it should last more many decades to come. I should also mention the prompt and thorough clean-up that took place as soon as each stage of the project was completed."
