"So in September the mason we hired (James Mackin) walked off the job after taking off our stone stairs leading from our back doors to our patio. I got the recommendation for him from a local forum. We were left with sand, stone, cement blocks, etc. on our patio and no mason. He collected cash from us for half the job. Warning: don't ever pay in cash. He then wanted to be paid in cash daily and by the hour. He had also increased his price substantially. We weren't about to be caught in another scam. After going to Home Advisor, we found the name of 3,4,5 Stone Masonry. At the same time, we asked at the lumber yard who they would recommend. Their answer: 3,4,5 Stone Masonry. Within minutes John Fitzgerald, the owner, contacted us. From the moment we met him, he was professional and courteous. He gave us a legitimate contract, called when he said he would, came when he said he would, and developed a trust in us that was sorely needed after the first experience. Marty, a truly exceptional mason was assigned to our project. His attention to detail and his artistic talents created a one-of-a-kind creation. He completed the project in a week and gave us everything we wanted and more. He too was professional in every way. If you're looking for a mason, don't bother shopping around the way we had to. "Showed up on time, cleaned up after, did everything they promised they will do. They even replaced portion of my vinyl sidings which was broken. Trustworthy! They are VERY GOOD AND PROFESSIONAL, I ended giving them my other projects: CONCRETE DRIVEWAY and Side Walks - they did a very good job, even my neighbors asked them to do their sidewalks! No Mess, all debris from the old driveway taken out immediately! CONCRETE AND BRICKS PORCH - beautifully done and I saw that they really put a lot of efforts and attention to the brick works - very happy! STUCCO AROUND THE HOUSE - did a good job, with wire mesh beneath the concrete so you know the concrete was going to stay put. Also did the concrete steps around the house, they did it RIGHT with slight slope away from the house so water won't go or stay at the foundation. They redid my broken steps at the back of the house and topped it with solid blue stones. NICE! Overall, we are so happy with their work. I ended recommending them to another friend who need to replace her skylight. She told me she was very happy with their work too! Will definitely call them everytime I have something to do. My neighbors, engineers, saw the way they work, had them do some work in their property too! Fast, reliable, and PRICE IS RIGHT!"

"I put out feelers for deck quotes at the end of May in hopes to have my old two level deck relaced. Facebook failed me of the four who were recommended only one showed up for a quote and couldn't come until late August. Angie's list was an almost failure also, but Paul from Family Hearth and Patio showed up as promised his quote came in lower and he could get to us in 45 days. Lo and behold at the 43 day mark the crew showed up and started the demo of the old deck. The crew consisted of 3 guys Red, Ty and Colin for a majority of the job. Dealing with all rain delays the heat and humidity these guys stuck with it and finished the job. Red and his crew ensured that there were no discrepancies in the appearance of the deck. I feel the craftmanship is superb. The job may have taken longer than expected but once again with the weather not cooperating and some work had to be redone due to craftmanship from a worker who was let go during the project. We are extremely happy with the outcome"
