"AS usual, Handy Men & Mrs. Helper (HMMH) did a fantastic job. The projects were sort of scheduled in phases, Hall bath first, Master bath and new shower stall second, with backsplash installation somewhere in between. Andy (owner and President of HMMH) provided a day-by-day schedule of what would be done and who would do it. First carpeting throughout the pathway to both bathrooms and kitchen was covered in plastic and tarpes. HMMH is always very careful at covering furniture, flooring, and cabinets in order to avoid any damage and the spreading of construction dust. Controlling the construction dust is an impossible job, but HMMH does a great job at attempting to control the dust. We started out by removing all the wall and floor tile in the Hall bath. This included chipping off floor tile that had been set in 1/2" of thin set. And of course, being on a slab, the floor was very uneven and had to be leveled. Once the wall tile was removed, we also found that the bathtub was off (tipping towards wall) by 1/2" so the bathtub had to be leveled. Once all of this was done, Scott (one of four people who worked on the project) proceeded to discuss tile layouts, niche locations, and plans for the floor tile with me before he started laying out all the tile. Once Scott put the wall and floor tile in, Virgo came in to do any patching of the walls required and then painted the entire bathroom. Because the glass shower doors that I purchased were extremely difficult to install, the installation of the glass shower doors was scheduled with a professional installer, All Custom Glass. The next day, All Custom Glass came in to install the shower door on the bathtub. Matt and Dwight (All Custom Glass) spent about two hours installing the glass door that had to be left UNTOUCHED for 48 hours in order for the caulking to dry. Then Scott proceeded to install the wall tile in the kitchen for the backsplash. This was a fairly simple job and was completed within a couple of days. The bathroom and kitchen took approximately 13 days to complete. Next Scott started the Master bath, tearing out the wall and floor tile and the bathtub. We of course ran into the same problem with the floor. The floor was extremely uneven and had to be leveled. Scott also installed a new fan with light above the shower stall. Martin came in to do the patching and drywalling before Scott could continue. Once this work was done, Scott and I once again discussed the layout of the floor and wall tiles and where the niches would be located. This was more of a challenge because the niches on the Hall bath wall were interfering with our planned location of one of the niches in the Master bath. Once all decisions were made, Scott proceeded to tile the floor and then the shower stall. Once again, the installation of the glass shower doors was scheduled with a professional installer, All Custom Glass. Scott finished the tiling, and Virgo came in to do the final patching and painting of the bathroom. The next day, All Custom Glass came in to install the glass shower door. The Master bath took about 12 days to complete. I am absolutely thrilled with the results and would recommend HMMH for all your renovation needs. Andy has a crew of professionals who take their work very seriously and who are meticulous in the work they perform. I have used HMMH several times in the past and they would be the first and only company I would call with any renovation projects. They can't be beat! P.S.
