"The overall experience was exceptional. Luis meet with my wife and I and did a walk thru of the property and provided us with an estimate within an hour of the walk-thru. I already had heard excellent things about his company from numerous co-workers who had FDC paint their home. I truly feel like we got an extreme value in terms of the service we received for the price. Since our house was a new build, we had a number of cracks and nail pops associated with the home settling. Also, entire house to include walls ceiling and trim was a blah beige. Needless to say, FDC had their work cut out for them. Luis and his team skimmed and sanded all these areas and repaired the drywall making the necessary repairs as part of their prep work. Once painting had begun, he provided a daily up date on the project and sent pictures. We meet on numerous occasions to go over things and I was blown away by he and his crews attention to detail. "This is the third time I hired Shalom Home Solution for a painting job----I just used their service a few days a go to pain the house I was moving into. I hired them to paint the house I was putting on the market for sale. This is a singe family house with about 2750 sqft of living space. The painting includes all interior drywall surface, window and door frames and baseboards. Again, the crew did a very good job in painting the interior and making minor drywall repairs along the way. Window treatment were taken down and put back without problem. The house was cleaned up afterwards. When I pointed out a few areas where the painters missed, Amilcar personally finished them himself. The job was completed on time."

"The home we recently bought in Old Town Alexandria had some very quirky things the previous owner had installed in the house.  We had some ideas about what we needed done and contacted MW construction to help us out.  The entire experience was professional and exceeded our expectations.  Greg Marks gave us the ideas and estimates on how to fix the major problems in the house.  The master bath was pretty, lots of Italian marble and a large corner shower, but it was utterly disfunctional as a bathroom.  There was no vanity, only a pedestal sink, so nowhere to put things.  There was a bidet taking up a lot of space and certainly not necessary for us.  The worst was the shower that had a hazardous, nearly two foot step up to get into a sunken jacuzzi tub.  The renovation included removal of the jacuzzi and replacing it with a complementary-colored tile normal shower. The bidet and pedestal sink were removed and replaced with a large vanity that looks like it was always there.  The tile was kept intact to the greatest extent possible and we now have a beautiful and very enjoyable master bath.  
The basement of the original part of the house had been divided up into three smaller spaces - mostly useful for some storage but now really useful as a functional space.  The renovation involved tearing out non-load bearing walls, replacing the carpeting, lighting and paint.  It is now a great open space that will be used as a family room and library. 
The workmen were prompt, courteous, fast, professional and clean.  We were extremely happy with this service provider and would not hesitate to recommend and use them again.
BTW, we found them on Angie's list and they provided a discount for that.  We also interviewed two other service providers and even though this company was more expensive than the others, it was well worth the extra money to get such great work done.

"The cleaning went find but it was not really a dry cleaning like I expected. The carpets were damp/wet for several hours after. However the results were pretty good and I would still recommend."

Due to a minor water leak a section of drywall about 8' x 2' had been cut out. The trim in this area and on the other side of the hall plus a closet had to be placed as well. The drywall and trim had been removed due to a small amount of mold from the water leak.  I called George's painting due to all the great reviews here on Angie's list.  I received an estimate on this work and in addition I asked for an estimate on some painting.  I thought the estimate was very fair. George was extremely professional and even came to look at what the job entailed late on a Friday evening as he was returning from other jobs on his way back to his office. This was absolutely fine with me as I had no plans to go anywhere.  George sent my estimate first thing Monday morning.

In the end I used George's only for the drywall and trim work. The job was easily scheduled and the 2 man crew did an outstanding job. I couldn't even tell there had been any damage. The trim work was outstanding as well with nice miter cuts. It lined up well with the existing molding where the miter cuts met.  It only took them approximately 4 hours to do the job.  I plan to call George's in the future for outside painting of my house.
