Small jobs welcome

"Antiques Plaster did a fabulous job on fixing cracks in my stucco and re-pointing the brick on the front of my house. Duane and his family were very very professional. They kept me in the loop through the entire process. I knew what they were going to do next I knew when they would be back the next day. Working with them was an an overall wonderful experience. I wasn’t able to upload all the photos because Angee‘s only let you upload a certain amount. Higher them for your job."

"David completed my kitchen floor, and I couldn't be happier. After a leaky water line behind my fridge left my floor flooded and un-salvageable, I decided to put out some time and to see if there were any good tile company. I had a few different contractors give estimates, some higher and some lower than David, but I immediately had a great feeling about him as he took the time to explain the process, how he would approach the project, and he paid particular attention to the details that I had initially overlooked (sealing the grout, how tiles line up, pattern ideas, transition pieces, etc.) He started the work early Monday morning (showed up exactly on time), and he was meticulous with the prep work to ensure my place remained clean and un-impacted by the dust. I left him unsupervised the majority of the weekend, trusted him in my place and tried to stay out of his way. I returned to a finished product that was absolutely AMAZING! I'll be honest, I'm pretty fastidious, especially when dealing with something like flooring. With that being said, the tile was put down PERFECTLY! Completely level, cut precisely to the wall, joints are error-free, exceptional work… I would absolutely recommend Steve to anyone looking for a true professional to drive a quality tile project. He cares about his work, and he cares about his customer. I truly couldn't give a higher recommendation."

"Brian was very personable and quick to respond to our request for a bid. They even moved the job date up by a few weeks. Unfortunately, we were out of the country when the job was performed. I think, had we been in the country and able to supervise the work being performed we may have had a better outcome. Looking at the home from the street, everything looked good. However, when you were right up on the house looking at the worked performed there were several areas that were missed during the spraying process. The estimate stated that all new/raw siding and trim would receive 2 "healthy" coats of primer and 2 "additional" coats of paint. Unfortunately this was not done and we had to put a second coat of paint on all new/raw siding and trim. The estimate also stated that they would sand and scrape all areas needed. One area in particular on the existing structure desperately needed "wood filler" and we pointed this out during the walk-thru but when we returned home they had simply painted over the area in question so we had to do that work ourselves. Lastly, we do not believe that the railing on our front porch was properly prepared because the paint started bubbling and peeling so we had to sand and repaint that area ourselves as well. If you are wondering if we called and complained about the work performed on our home the answer is NO we did not. Why would we call them back out to fix all these problems if they couldn't perform the work correctly the first time."

"They were courteous and helpful in providing advice on materials to use on our project. The paint used was high quality and their pricing was very reasonable. They worked around our schedule and were not intrusive while working indoors. Great to work with"

"I thought that was false advertisement and  wasn't happy overall.  They only do one side of the window and count it as a window on both sides.  I guess it was okay for window cleaning. "

FAQs for drywall and plastering projects in Kirkwood, CA

Load-bearing walls support the weight of your home's structure, including floors, roofs, and other building components. Non-load-bearing walls, on the other hand, serve only as partitions or room dividers. All exterior walls are typically load-bearing, even if they have design features like bump-outs or large glass panels. These walls need precise construction to ensure your home's structural integrity.

Removing a wall costs anywhere from $300 to $10,000 , depending on the size and whether it's load-bearing. Removing load-bearing walls is a more labor-intensive process and typically costs more. To get an accurate estimate for your project, consult a local contractor with the specifics of your wall.

Yes, there are other projects you can tackle at the same time when building a wall. Upgrading to energy-efficient windows or doors can enhance your home’s sustainability and can be integrated into the wall construction process. You might also consider removing existing walls to create an open-concept layout or building a home addition for extra space. Coordinating multiple projects can be cost-effective and streamline your renovation timeline. Discuss your goals with a contractor to help you plan effectively and maximize the benefits of your renovation.

The cost to build a partition wall varies depending on the size and type you choose. Half walls that don't reach the ceiling cost about $10 to $20 per linear foot . Full partition walls made with drywall may cost more due to additional materials and labor. Prices for accordion or panel walls vary widely based on materials and design. Factors like electrical work, insulation, and finishes will also influence your total cost.

Framing is the backbone of wall construction, creating a secure structure that supports everything else. Quality framing ensures that studs, electrical wiring, and plumbing are properly integrated into your home's design. A professional installer uses reliable materials like wood or metal to build a framework that meets building codes and ensures your wall is durable and safe.
