"An initial call was not returned and I had requested the measuring kit which really wasn't needed. Both the table and buffet are rectangular and not in need of a detailed measurement. I happened to get a follow up call and arranged an order. I wouldn't be too concerned about the prices shown online, they are willing to work on the price. Actually it was adding the second item that helped for me. I did pay an extra $30 for expideted handling as I had a party coming up. The pads were received in a few days. I also bought the storage bags and they are OK. Rather flimsy. The pads themselves are of very high quality. Sturdy and for the dining table have magnets to hold them together. The tops have a nice look and I don't mind leaving them on."

"    IN the beginning we had several companies come in and give us bids and options on getting the cabinets repaired.  Two of the companies voiced that the cabinets were too severely damaged and needed to be completely striped and refinished.  with a cost that was between 4000 and 6000$.  I had heard from a friend about a process called restoration. with that process i was told that aged or damaged cabinets could be brought back to looking new for a fairly inexpensive cost.  Then asked both the businesses if they new anything about restoration both responded with thats not possible and doesn't work.      To say the least I was not convinced.   I then called my friend who told me about the restoration, she gave me a referral card for The Wood Doctor. Right from the start the wooddoctor crew made us feel comfortable about having them in our home. They seemed polite, professional, and trustworthy. I asked them about the restoration process. THey explained the process and told us the cost. In the short of it we preceded with them. THe results were awesome! "The service went well. They were able to clean the parts of the home I needed cleaned within the 4 hour time frame. Two people came out for the service and brought their own cleaning supplies. The vacuum they did use did not clean the rugs very well. They did have to come out quite a way to get to me so I would not hire them again because of how much the travel fee would be. They did fine work and I had no problem scheduling the service."

"It is a waste of money. The great majority of people are not going to find any value out of the service. If you need design consultation, you need a full service consultation. If you already have knowledge and experience, and you just need to get a few ideas, then you don't need to pay for that. You can just get a magazine or a book since you already have the knowledge of basic designs in your head or a little bit of experience. To have someone call you and give you information over the phone, you are not getting the personal service that you need. You may as well take the money $49 and apply it to something else like getting someone else to come out and give you the service that you need. Because, you are not getting much, you are not getting anything at all. They are going to have you do the work. After talking to them and I was talking to other home designers, I found out that that was a waste of time and waste of money. I gave them a C because they didn't fail at what they do but they don't offer any value for what they do. There's not much value to it. The cost was fair. They didn't do a terrible job and the cost isn't terrible, it was only $49. It just has a very low value. For responsiveness I gave them a B because they will answer your phone and answer your emails."

"We appreciate the high quality of John's workmanship, his integrity, reliability, and his reasonable prices. His work is a good value at $50-60 per hour. We know from experience that he stands by his work 100% and for up to four or five years. We had one inexplicable shower leak, and John spent hours and hours of his own time determining the cause and repairing the problem, at no cost to us. That's integrity! We were never without a bathroom to use. Because we were happy with John's work, we allowed the extra time for him to complete the job himself to his high standards. This included such things as leveling the subfloor in one bathroom before he could proceed to set the tile. Bath 3 (tile shower and tub walls, two sinks, toilet, tub): Tore out fiberglass shower, toilet, vanity and flooring. Built new tile shower, tiled floor, baseboards, and tub walls. Replaced plumbing and electrical fixtures. Installed full-wall mirror, new tub, toilet. Bath 4 (powder room, toilet, sink): Tore out flooring, vanity and toilet. Tiled floor and framed mirror with glass border. Replumbed faucet. Installed sink, toilet, mirror and sconces. If we had more remodeling to be done, we wouldn't hesitate for an instant to hire John Erickson Construction."
