We contracted with Jim to install the CoolVu solar film and the results have been wonderful. Jim did his work quietly and efficiently. The film gave a classic look to our windows and the material has effectively lowered the temperature of the room and blocks the suns glare from interfering with the use of our family room in the middle of the afternoon when the sun is breaking through the windows, causing heat and glare. "Delivery was delayed due to credit inquiry. After the concern was raised, shipment was rushed to us. Self installation didn't go as easy. Issue was resolved over the phone. The glass break sensor was a bit sensitive to loud noise such as cabinet door closing and door sensor repeatedly falls off and had to be reattached. Notification of alarm activation was fast and made to the right contact numbers. This prevented false alarm calls to the police."

"We contracted with Bee Window to install 19 second floor windows in our 100 year-old brick house. They also removed the front entryway that consisted of the original front door and two sidelights and replaced them with an energy efficient single integrated unit with much nicer looking glass than the originals had. They also reinstalled our wired doorbell into the new door unit. The process started about a week after we signed the contract when a measurement technician arrived to take measurements. Several weeks later we received stain color samples and signed-off on them. The office staff was very accommodating in delaying the install date several times when I felt it was too cold to remove our front entryway and replace it. The install of all 19 windows and the front entryway exceeded my expectations and was completed carefully and quickly in a single day. The install crew was friendly and knowledgeable and worked together as a team. One of the trailers that they brought on-site was a mobile metal fabricating shop that allowed them to cut and bend the metal exterior pieces to fit each window as needed. They installed new insulation around the windows and door unit and caulked all exterior and interior joints. At the conclusion of the install they cleaned up around the house and took away all the old windows and door pieces. Over the 40 years that we have lived in our 100 year-old home, we have worked with many, many tradesmen, everyone from larger outfits like Bee Window to smaller one-man operations. I’ve learned that there is almost always a successful outcome when there is a partnership between the homeowner and the tradesmen. I’ve learned to hire people with the experience and expertise for the job we needed done and then work with them to make it happen. I’ve found that when you hire carefully, communicate clearly, and treat tradesmen with respect you will get a superior result. Bee Window was not the most inexpensive choice, but they were the right choice for this project."

We chose ProTECHt because of favorable reviews in Angies list and are pleased with the choice. The installation went quickly. Theo and his assistant installed and explained the system in a little over an hour.  The initial price included all our downstairs doors and windows as well as a large fixed picture window. A sensor that detects breaking glass protects the latter. We asked for an extra sign outside and this was provided at no charge.

"We've read a lot of nasty comments about some companies that sell replacement windows(e.g., high pressure tactics, bait and switch with windows, price playing, etc.) so I entered into the search for a window company with a lot of skepticism. Doing my homework on Angie's list I narrowed the potential window companies to four that all appeared to be ethical and sold a good, fair priced window. (Some of the companies I didn't even waste my time with requesting an estimate due to the Angie's list reviews and I think the homework was well worth my time.) Just by the luck of the draw when scheduling window companies, Legacy was the final company we spoke with for an estimate on replacement windows. As a result of what I read on Angie's list about the window salespeople and the time they try to spend at your house to "wear you down", I told each replacement window sales representative that they had one hour to give me their sales pitch, provide me with their best price estimate, and then I would escort them out the door. The first three companies salespeople were decent and did a fair job of presenting their product (i.e., replacement vinyl windows). Two had good windows (one representative presented us with a very inexpensive window, which really surprised me) and they all stuck to the allotted one hour. After three presentations we thought that the fourth, Legacy Windows, would not be much different and were resigned to having better windows that the rotted wood one's but maybe not quite what we wanted. Well, Mark Spencer, the owner of Legacy Windows showed up as the final person in our attempt to find replacement windows. The minute my wife and I met him, we knew that he was not a "song and dance person" like a few of the other salespeople that spoke to us. Mark looked at what we had, asked us about what we wanted, and then showed us the window her thought was our best option. Both my wife and I were impressed - he was showing us Polaris ultraweld triple pane vinyl windows. Of course, my thought was, 'very nice but there is no way we can afford this quality window after getting estimates on lower quality double pane windows. Well, I was wrong. Not only did we get the best window available (my opinion after a lot of research) but we also got it at the best price and from a local Indianapolis company. We've had the windows for about six weeks and the house is cooler (consistent temperature) and the noise from the neighbor's yapping dogs has been greatly reduced. The installers, Darrell, his wife Beth, and Austin (summer employee who is a teacher) were a pleasure to have working on our house. Darrell is amazing at his trade and does a thorough job both installing the windows and having the aluminum trim wraparound flawless. I think that Legacy Windows have to be one of the top, most honest, replacement window companies in Indianapolis with by far superior installers."
