"I had a 30 year old furnace on its last legs. Given I am someone who always does a lot of research before moving forward, I did some online research and besides the company that had been servicing my existing HVAC equipment giving me a quote, I contacted 5 other companies for bids on a new furnace and AC system. In my research, I read that the quality of the install is just as or more important than the brand of the equipment. And I definitely noticed a difference in the knowledge and expertise each company presented when I met with their company sales rep / estimators. I ended up with 7 quotes (one company quoted two different brands) but two reps really stood out from the rest with their knowledge. One was Lonnie Auten with Wade Heating & Cooling. Lonnie and a Trane rep were the only two who took the time to do calculations to ensure the system was properly sized (the others just looked at the size I was replacing and asked if I was happy with how it kept the temperature). Lonnie and the other gentleman were also the only two to notice a couple issues with the way our old company had installed a humidifier. In fact, even though I just had the furnace serviced a week prior and mentioned the humidifier was leaking – the old service tech did not fix it. Lonnie saw it was leaking, went out and grabbed a tool from his car and tried to figure out the issue to stop the leak. He discovered a slight crack in a supply hose and said he could have his techs fix it if they did the install (in the end I had them replace the entire humidifier). Lonnie and the other gentlemen were also the only two to talk about federal tax credits and to ensure the whole system was AHRI matched to qualify for those tax credits. They both took the time to answer all my questions I ended up with 2 quotes on Carrier, 2 on Bryant, 2 on Trane and 1 on Lennox equipment. While not the cheapest quote, the quotes provided by Lonnie and the one Trane rep were pretty competitive. I actually had a lower quote from another Carrier dealer, but I just felt much more comfortable that Wade would provide a higher level of installation and service so chose to move forward with them. My installation took place over two days and the two installers, Scott and Brandon were very professional, on time and did a great job. They asked me if I had any questions up front, told me what they would be doing that day, and kept me apprised calling me down when needed to ensure I was ok with a few placement decisions they had to make. They cleaned up everything, walked my wife and I through how to operate everything and made sure I was satisfied. Based on my experience, I would definitely recommend Wade to others. In fact, based on my interactions with Lonnie and before my install was done, I gave my daughter and her fiancé Wade’s name and number as they needed a pressure relief valve on a heating boiler in the house they just bought replaced and were not having any luck finding someone to service it in a timely manner. Wade was able to come out, order the part and plans to install it for them next week. Very happy with my experience."

"A great company, from the estimate to the install they were on time, informative and very professional. I really think I could not have found a better group of professionals to replace my current heat pump and air handler. Kudos to this company, I highly recommend you give them a shot at your HVAC needs. If their service is as punctual and professional as they have been for the install, I'm not sure you could find a better fit. Thank you Air Systems Mechanical and please say thank you to your team of guys for me who installed my system, they were outstanding! I found my go too for all my HVAC needs."

"He was recommended by another contractor that I used in the past. We also had them to replace the furnace in October, then we asked him to come back when we need to replace the water heater. They were very professional there were no problems at all, and they did the job. Very knowledgeable and informative about the products and I would use them again in the future if we needed to."

"Frank met with the estimate! I had no idea I would have the new furnace installation minutes after acceptance of his price. Nine hours dismantling old furnace and new one installed w/ central air. These guys are professional, kind and courteous! The price, quality and service exceeded my expectations. If you need a new furnace to replace the old one or new installation S &S Climate Systems are #1. I met with two other companies whose bid was larger, but S and S offered the same product saving me $1500-$2000, money I put toward upgrading my Electric panel and my sidewalk replacement!! And besides, I made new friends! Again, you owe it to yourselves to give your Heating and HVAC to S and S, because not only do they do good work, but their prices are within your budget range, there was no negotiating, in fact: I gave them a bonus. I was so pleased! Thank you S and S Climate Systems. These guys had everything stocked on their trucks, no time missed leaving the worksite to pickup items. They came prepared and delivered! Great job guys, you will go far! Keep doing what you do! Thank you for the Veterans discount! Semper Fidelis!"

Customers say: Quick response

"During my years of employment I worked in construction management and as such, I dealt with many types of contractors. In my view, Aaron Cipriani is the epitome of what a contractor should be. Prompt, polite, knows his craft and does it well, clean and thorough and his charges are reasonable. In the future, any plumbing, heating or cooling needs I may have, Aaron will be the one I call."

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Aliquippa, PA

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
