Customers say: Super punctual

"I have been using Mike as my Heating and A/C guy for 17 years and he is awesome! He is very personable, professional, knowledgable, and reasonably proced. He has never tried to sell me anything I don't need (like some others I dealt with). I have also used him for emergencies (water heater) and he has been there when I needed him."

"Roy arrived 30 minutes late but had called to inform me he was running late. He quickly identified our needs for new HVAC system and gave me a quote. He offered to complete the work quickly but could not do until the next week. He was very detailed. His quote was slightly higher than his competitors. We went with another company, but I felt Roy was genuine."

"Ryan and his team have excellent customer service, were very prompt, and gave me a great deal on my HVAC system. My basement flooded and ruined my furnace, leaving my son and I with no heat for days before I noticed it. When I called Good Guys, they were at my house the next day with a brand new system, top of the line, for a very reasonable price and had me hooked up in the same business day. I would highly recommend Good Guys to anyone needing help with their HVAC system :)"

"First to reach out to me once I indicated what I was in need of. Indicated they would be able to schedule me that day. Turned out they couldn't …. However, I will say their communication advising me of the status was excellent. Rescheduled for the next day. Called from tech prior to arrival and providing me an estimated time. Tyler was very professional and thorough. Performed an overall check of my water system. Of course in IN there isn't any "good" water. Provided a pressure check; which was high and submitted a couple of solutions with quotes. No hard sales pitch - I passed on these options and there was no push back. Not saying their recommendations weren't without merit, simply something I did not want to pursue at this time. Once we established this, Tyler did an excellent job in performing the task on the water heater. I would definitely use again and highly recommend Hope."

"Dustin did an amazing installation of a new whole home heat pump system. The installation had critical attention to detail and Dustin provided a high level of understanding my needs in a system and matching me to the best solution. He was able to explain the reasoning behind the equipment and installation decisions. He cares about your project and went above and beyond making the install look pleasing. I highly recommend him for all HVAC needs in the future! A+"

Small jobs welcome

"Weâ ve hired several people to fix our heating issue over the last few years. They could get the furnace running but not for long term. Powers came and found the problem within minutes, a problem no one else had considered or even looked at. He ordered the part and was back in a few days. Super fast service and we havenâ t had a furnace issue since!! My family is very thankful!"

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Cicero, IN

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
