"Total Heating and Cooling was knowledgable and experienced with geothermal heat. They gave us a very reasonable quote (we got 5 different quotes). They got the unit in quickly for us since our system had stopped working. They were easy to work with, very accomodating. So far we are very pleased with our new system! Thank you!"

"The service was insanely quick and professional. The pricing was extremely competitive, and the timeline was shorter than the area. I had a 48 year old a/c with baseboard heat and definitely needed an upgrade. My a/c finally went out and I had no a/c in July. I called Integrity they were at my residence within 2 hours. After that we decided to order a new system and Integrity installed it and had it running after a day and a half. Im also very excited about the warranties and maintenance program offered from Integrity. Definitely recommend.."

"Very professional. Answered all my calls and questions. The installation crew was very respectful and asked every time if this location for this, that location for that was acceptable for me. If not, they accommodateed for the change. Had power loss 5 days before scheduled whole home generator install. Called to see what options I had, Keeler offered and lent me portable generator for free. That's what is known as going the extra mile. Thanks again and you will not got wrong hiring Keeler. "We had a problem with our furnace (long startup time and weird smell), and used Home Advisor to look for some help. We we sent to Air Advisor, and, all I can say is, this was the best HVAC professional we could have been sent. Josh was professional and listened to the problem. It was a quarter to 5 in the evening and he was out by 5:30 to see what the problem was. He ran some tests, which initially showed no major issues (a clogged port). He checked one more part in the furnace that he said normally went bad with the manufacturer of our furnace, and ultimately determined that we needed a new unit ASAP. He was out early the next day, and by the end of the day, we had a highly efficient furnace. He broke down and explained how inefficient out old system was compared to the new one, and, when he tested the system, all I could say was WOW! I had parts of my house warm that used to need a space heater to help warm. He also laid his own protective covering over our floors and cleaned up after himself. He is courteous, professional. His prices are very fair, and he offers a lifetime workmanship warranty. I couldn't recommend Air Adviser enough!!!!!!"

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Sacramento, PA

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
