"Mike was thorough, professional, and everything I could ask for in a contractor. He showed tremendous knowledge of the systems his company sells, their suitability to my house in particular, attentive to my concerns, and quick to bring rebates and other sales to my attention. If I had gone with a mini-split system, I would have used N.E.T.R. without a doubt. I remain very pleased with my interactions with Mike, even though they didn't result in a sale.

"Probably the best contractor I ever worked with. They delivered exactly what they promised, on time and without any hassle. They replaced my 24-year old oil furnace with a highly efficient gas boiler and water heater. Jeff and team organized everything, including permits, the timing of the oil tank and boiler removal, the delivery of the different heating system parts and plumbing supplies and the gas meter installation. They worked very efficiently and left the place cleaner than it was before. I can't stop admiring the wall with the new piece of art of engineering I have now in my expanded basement! I would highly recommend J. Griffin Heating and Plumbing to anyone looking for upgrading their current heating system."

"Fantastic. Jeff is a pro. Installation went as described in both locations. He came back Immediately when I had a water gauge issue for my water meter ( installed 7 years ago) and replaced it on the spot. Jeff is professional, punctual, cleans up, old furnace removal and does great work. I’m very happy with my 2 new efficient heaters and hot water heaters! My heating costs are down substantially! I’m glad we chose Jeff."

"I've used this company for a few years, beginning with an issue I had where I needed some emergency assistance with an a/c system leaking water into the house. They fixed the issue and it cost far less than I thought it would. I've also used them for a couple heating repairs, annual furnace cleaning and a/c maintenance. I am about to hire them again since the a/c system is dying and it will need replacement since it's more than 20 years old. I would highly recommend Unique Indoor Comfort to anyone in need of a good HVAC/Heating company."

"Things went very well. The sales process involved a home visit, discussion afterwards, and follow up by e-mail messages to determine what I needed in general, what I wanted in detail, the price, and understanding about rebates. Everything was clear, up front, and complete (for example, no additional costs showed up later). Airco was patient with me and spoke at my level. Their schedule was busy and there were a couple of misses before the installation date was agreed to. It was met without being changed by them. The installer was professional and courteous and put up well with my questions. The installation was done well in the proscribed time. Old stuff was carted away and clean up was done before departure. The air conditioner and new thermostat have worked well. It has been too warm to give the furnace a significant shake down. Airco did their paperwork for rebates and supplied me with the information I needed in a timely manner. There were a few misses scheduling the QIV test, but it was done at the agreed upon time and date. Again, in a very satisfactory fashion. My overall impression is of good, honest people.

"I have been using DRB Heating and Cooling services for years now. Often times, service is completed by the owner himself, which is great. But other technicians have serviced my furnace or a/c, and theyâ  ve all done a fine job. No complaints here! Dan is reliable, competent, and a consummate professional, and he never tries to upsell. Sophia always keeps me informed, including when Dan is running late. With any repairs, one must anticipate delays, as the technician might run into unexpected complications at a previous job. I do appreciate that Sophia keeps customers informed. Itâ  s those small things that makes a big difference."

"The back flow valve on our furnace had been leaking. I called 3 companies and Platinum was the only one that returned my call.
Rob arrived on time, reviewed the issue and provided an estimate. He got to work and had the valve replaced in about 20 mins. We have used the furnace for a month now with no issues.

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.
Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.
With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.
The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.
Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.
An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.
An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
