"I enthusiastically recommend this company. Mehmet was always prompt for appointments and texted to let you know he was on his way. His crew worked from 7 am to 7 pm and got our new central A/C system installed in one day during a heat wave. Very professional outfit, polite and cheerful to have around."

"we contracted with Comfort Ductwork Systems to install a ductless air conditioning system into two of our bedrooms. They offered the best price and provided a good parts and labor warranty. The installation went flawlessly until the final testing showed a defect in the heating portion of one unit. Jonathan Moya, owner, stuck with the problem and persevered until tech support came to our home and determined that it was equipment failure. The manufacturer replaced the defective outdoor compressor and the system works flawlessly today. My hat goes off to Johnathan who didn't give up. He is competent, honest and reliable."

"I was very happy with my service call today! The repairman, Scott, was knowledgeable and pleasant and wore a mask and gloves throughout., so I felt safe, despite the pandemic. He serviced both of my central air systems and diagnosed the problem with the malfunctioning one and fixed it. By the time he left my house was already a much more pleasant place to be!"

"I am unable to answer the above questions. So far, the work has been great, but they have Checked out my old system and recommended a new one. I am confident that they are telling the truth and I will be able to more fully review them when the work is complete"

"Just Rite Heating & Cooling installed our central air conditioner today. The team of five were on time, courteous, friendly and hard workers. They laid down runners to keep the interior of my house clean. The boss, Eric, explained how each part of the system components worked. Together we worked out the placement of the ceiling registers in each room. After the system was completely installed I was instructed on the how the new thermostat controlled both the old heating system and the new air conditioning system. Best of all the installation was completed in one day!"

"I hired Joe from MassAir to install Central Air in our home recently. From the start he answered all my questions, always returned my calls quickly, and gave a fair price. He explained exactly what they would be doing and how long it would take, and he and his workers were professional and courteous. They did the job quickly, cleaned up after themselves, and all around provided everything he promised. Overall we are very happy with the work they did, and I would highly recommend MassAir for air conditioning work."

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Smithtown, NY

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
