"Michael was delightful. He came on time and did a thorough estimate.. He and his team removed old, falling insulation from our crawlspace, replaced it, and replaced a tattered vapor barrier. On time, at price."

"I can't say enough about this company and Angel. I had just gone through a very stressful project of removing an oil tank from under my addition and sent his company a request for an estimate for the work I had to have done. Even though his office was closed he called me right away. He said he could be here the next day and he was. He went over what would have to be done and said he could be here the next day. Very early the next day him and his crew were here and worked all day and completed my floor. Needless to say it was very emotional to see I had a floor I could actually walk all around the room on. His crew even brought in my washer and dryer from the shed and Angel even hooked them up for me. I now could do my laundry in a room. I would so like to say that I would recommend Angel and his crew to anyone who may need any work done. I feel for me they were the best."

"My bathroom remodeling experience was unexpectedly pleasant, and I owe a great deal of gratitude to the guys from Score Construction. I had a rough idea going in of what I wanted my mother's new bathroom to look like, but it was mostly just conjecture and hand-waving, needless to note I'm the type of guy who needs a gal that's mechanically inclined, because I'm far from it. Before starting the project, I had three contractors come and take a look at the bathroom (I also had two contractors who could only give me quotes over the phone, they were cheaper than the quotes I received in person, and I think it's very obvious why). They were all very professional in their conduct, but what set SCORE apart from the rest was their willingness to hear me out. I drew diagrams of what I wanted the bathroom to look like, and SCORE (in particular Janusz, though his partner was commendable as well) took the time to analyze my thoughts line by line. For my wishes that were feasible, they explained exactly how they would accomplish it, and for some of my ideas that were either too expensive or impossible considering the layout of the bathroom, they suggested revisions that were in line with the overall design (her bathroom is roughly 100 sq ft, so there was ample space for design). My only complaint about the other contractors was that they did not respect my ideas enough, not that they were rude in any way, but it felt to me as if the design was already established according to their desires, and it was me that was going to have to come around to their way of thinking. Admittedly, I have no design experience, but this is my project and my money so I figured that the hired hands should be a little understanding when it comes to my wishes. The guys at SCORE were more than understanding, and it showed itself in the final product. Once all the preliminaries were settled, the actual construction began and it was completed in two weeks. They adjusted their work schedule around my availability (if I was free and let them work straight w/o any days off I imagine it would have been done much sooner). They did a very professional job, and I'm very glad to have had such an easygoing remodeling experience. Mum's happy, so I'm happy. -Ali"

"Good service, definitely a premium product. I had a unique home renovation situation, and they were professional and completed the entire 2-story house in a day and a half. Used them for both walls and roofing insulation."
Old insulation should be removed when it shows damage, contamination, or heavy deterioration. If you notice water stains, rodent droppings, mold, or large gaps, plan on taking it out to protect your home’s energy performance and indoor air quality. Removing compromised material eliminates health hazards, cuts energy loss, and sets the stage for a safer, more efficient attic—all while keeping utility bills in check.
R-value measures how well insulation resists heat flow—the higher the number, the better it slows heat transfer. The right R-value keeps your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer, saving energy year-round. Match the rating to your climate zone and have a pro verify performance over time, because moisture or settling can lower R-value and cut efficiency.
Attic insulation can stay in place for 80 to 100 years, but its performance often drops after the first 15. As dust, moisture, or mold build up, the material loses R-value and allows heat to escape. Schedule periodic inspections so a pro can tell you when replacement makes sense—helping you keep energy bills down and indoor comfort up.
You can over-insulate an attic. Beyond the recommended R-value, extra layers don’t add efficiency and can trap moisture, leading to mold or reduced performance. A local insulation pro can measure current levels, confirm the right target for your climate, and advise on any adjustments so you avoid future energy or maintenance headaches.
Insulation can be damaged by mold, pests, water leaks, or accidental electrical contact. When the material is compromised, it loses R-value and can introduce health hazards. Removing and replacing affected sections restores efficiency, while routine inspections from a qualified pro help you catch problems early and keep your attic safe and energy-smart.
