Comment: Homeowner with 3 season enclosed and unfinished porch. All framing is exposed. Planning to finish the space and curious what the cost of spay foam insulation will be. One approach to finishing the space is to remove the current exposed ceiling joists, replacing with a structural ridge beam or larger Rafter tie beams to open up the ceiling and then vault the ceiling. This is why the roof would be sprayed. The exterior walls are 2x4 construction. The length and width of the space is 16' wide by 20' long. The walls are approximately 8' high. 3 exterior walls would be insulated, one 20' x 8'. 2 at 16' x 8'. Ceiling rough span is 20' x 16' constructed with 2x6 rafter actual rafter run roughly 13ft. Giving a total sq foot coverage of roughly 832 sq ft. I have received one quote from an experienced local company that has a good reputation. Their ballpark estimate was a bit cost prohibitive.
