"Kolbie Holocker and his crew did grading and landscaping work in my backyard after it was torn up from sewer line repairs. They did exactly what I asked them to do. They leveled out the affected area, planted grass seed and put down straw. I was kept informed as to when they could do the work and they actually got to it sooner than I expected. They did a great job and I would definitely recommend the company to family and friends! Very good experience."

I am a jack of trades independent contractor/ handyman with 10+ years experience. I am not a licensed plumber, licensed electrician, or licensed roofer. With that said it's easier to just tell you the things that I don't do. I do not do drain work, I do not replace electrical lines or panel boxes, I do not replace plumbing lines which includes water and gas, and I do not replace roofs. Aside from that I can do everything else, and have the tools to do so.

They were open and communicative about the timeline, did a throughout job, and were even able to address some of our preexisting structural concerns before beginning the rest of the project. "I was given a window between 1pm and 2pm for an estimate.  The guy showed up almost an hour late.  After determining what was leaking he went to home depot to get the replacement part.  I still had not been given an estimate.  
He gets back and replaces the part maybe 45mins at home depot and 15 mins at my house, then has no idea what to charge me.  Here is where I realize I'm in trouble.  He waits about an hour to talk to his boss and see what the charge would be, so much for getting an estimate before hand.  He finally gets ahold of the guy then tells me its $185.  I asked him if that included the 10% angies list discount listed on angies list and he shrugs and says "uh, I think so", right.  
So basically I feel like a dope for not demanding an estimate before he booked it out to the store, but still that's a little ridiculous.  I won't be using McDonah again.
The work however was fine, he left it in better condition then it was.
