"I'm a long-time customer of Metro Lawn Sprinklers. Frank showed up 1/2-hour early for my scheduled appointment time, which was fine - I'd rather have an early arrival than a late arrival. After pressure testing the system to confirm the leaking water valve, I showed Frank the exact value which was leaking (Zone 5). Swapping out the valve isn't normally a time consuming task. However, because of the way the zone line split off from the main water line and into the valve box, Frank also had to replace the zone water line split off the main line with some new PVC pipe to the valve box. After completing the Zone water line repair and replaced the leaking water valve, Frank also checked and replaced a rotor head in Zone 5 which was no longer turning and spraying the intended region. Afterward, I had Frank re-seat several rotor heads that had settled in the ground at odd angles, which cause their spray patterns to not cover their intended regions. Time In/Out was 2.17 hours. However, because Frank spent another 1/2-hour (0.5 hours) adjusting the rotor heads, I was charged for 3 hours of labor at a $95.00 per hour labor rate. Given such a high labor rate, I think it would be appropriate to break the time charges into 1/4-hour (0.25 hour) increments (e.g., if the service call time spent is at least 2.5 hours but less than 2.75 hours, charge for 2.75 hours, not for 3 hours). Otherwise, I was pleased with the quality of the work performed and with other aspects of Frank's work. I would definitely hire them, again. In fact, i found another leaking water valve in my backyard before the Fall system winterization, which the shut-down tech said to tell them about when they come out for the 2020 Spring start-up when they can repair it."
