"Ryan and his team did a great job with our porches, roof, and shed. We are really looking forward to enjoying our screened porch this summer! He was professional and responsive to a couple of minor issues and made sure they were corrected to our satisfaction. Will definitely call him for our future home improvement needs."

"We had a shed built in our backyard and the old one taken down and hauled away. This was the easiest and most efficient company we have ever dealt with. A pleasure doing business with these guys. Everything they said would happen actually happened!! Perfect job!!!"

"We had a great experience with VKB Kitchen and Bath. We appreciated that Mr. Senveli came to our house for the initial consultation, and gave us quite a few ideas to think about. Then he met with us multiple times in the showroom and worked with us to make our project exactly what we wanted. Things moved at a swift pace, and we started construction before we knew it! We had a good experience with Mr. Doganci, who managed the crew. The crew worked so hard to get the project done quickly. We appreciated the long hours they put in, so that we could have our master bathroom in working order quickly. When we did have questions or concerns, they were promptly taken care of. I would highly recommend, and will use again in the future if the occasion arises."

"The crew did a great job - our porch/stairs were wooden and rotting, they were able to replace with Trex and the suggestions in connection with railing styles, etc look great and very solidly built."

"The deck and porch themselves were bult very well compared to the poor to p***-poor workmanship that is the average in Northern Virginia.  The price was much too high, but consistent with the normal price gouging in Northen Virginia.  If you do business with this company, you must keep in mind that you are dealling with three different entities that do not communicate well:  1. They guy who will design and sell the project to you.  2. The guys that will actually build the project. and 3. The company owner/supervisor.
Do not assume that what you buy from 1 is what 2 and 3 will provide.  The builders (2) did not even have a copy of the detailed plans and contract details from  the designer (1) until we gave them a copy near the end of the project.
Ensure that the designer writes every single thing down because if it is not written, the owner will not honor any verbal agreements or commitments made by the designer.  There is no such thing as "normal" or "given expectation"  or "it only makes sense to ..."
Finally, if you know anything about building and want special methods or design criteria met, you must be onsite to carefully guide the builders - they seem to only know "their way" of doing things.  For example, if you want wooden support posts to be set on concrete pillars instead of buried in the ground, you must first ensure that they received the requirements from the designer, then you will need to show them the proper way to set the pillars and then place the posts on them.  If you do not want enclosed rooms simply bolted through the siding on your house, you will need to be there to ensure that the siding is removed and then replaced.  And of course, make sure that such things are specifically stated in the contract.
Following my own advice from above,  I would possibly use this company again in the future.  The actual builders were very good in general skill and worked tirelessly in frankly brutal heat, but if I were going to invest so much of my own time and effort in the job, I could probably guide some less skilled laborers and get the job done for much less.
For the price, I expected a superior experience and deliverable, but only got a good product with a bit of frustration.  I guess for Northern Virginia, I made out like a bandit ...Heck, two previous guys in similar businesses didn't even show up to the job that they agreed to do.
Bottom line:  These guys can build a superior standard deck.  They need close supervision for jobs beyond that.

"I recently used HD Exteriors to build my new deck. The entire team was professional and responsive. My sales rep, Jeremiah, was very polite and knowledgeable. There was no pressure sale. The cost was reasonable. Kim, kept me updated with the progress of permits and HOA approvals. The construction crew was great. The deck was basically completed in two days. I couldn’t believe how quickly they worked. The new deck is beautiful. I highly recommend HD Exteriors!"

FAQs for shed and enclosure service projects in Midland, VA

A treehouse stresses the tree, but proper design keeps that impact manageable. Start with a healthy species, use tree-attachment bolts instead of lag screws, and allow room for future growth. A qualified treehouse builder or arborist can assess load capacity, ensure safe fastening, and monitor the tree’s health after construction.

The time it takes to build a treehouse depends on its size and complexity, and whether you choose a prefab kit or a custom design. A straightforward child's prefab treehouse can be assembled in as little as two days to a week. More complex designs can take two to six weeks. Adding features like plumbing and electricity can add several days to the project timeline. Building a fully livable treehouse can take anywhere from several months to a year.

The best trees for constructing a treehouse are strong and healthy with a minimum diameter of 12 inches. Ideal choices include maple, oak, hemlock, and fir trees. If suitable trees aren't available, you can install additional support posts to reinforce the structure. Consulting with an arborist or local treehouse builder ensures your site is evaluated correctly and your treehouse is securely anchored.

A well-constructed treehouse can last anywhere from 10 to 25 years or more. The lifespan depends on the quality of the materials used and the extent to which they are maintained. Applying weatherproof treatments to the wood can help extend its lifespan. Keep in mind that treehouses in areas with harsh weather conditions may wear faster than those in milder climates.

Building a treehouse for year‑round living is entirely possible when you address both the technical challenges and the lifestyle benefits head‑on. This project requires a secure design that incorporates superior insulation, integrated plumbing, and robust electrical systems, while also creating a sustainable, minimalist, and eco-friendly retreat. To ensure comfort and safety, invest in enhanced structural supports and adhere to strict code-compliance measures. Professional consultation is essential to transform your treehouse into a secure, full-time living space that incorporates off-the-grid and environmentally conscious design.

Plumbing installation in a treehouse is challenging because it requires unique, engineered solutions for an off‑ground structure. This project requires custom-designed water distribution systems, reinforced connections, and specialized adjustments that exceed the standard requirements for home plumbing. In addition, implementing innovative solutions such as composting toilets, rainwater collection systems, and graywater sinks ensures safe operation, efficient drainage, and sustainable water usage. These measures, when combined with rigorous adherence to building codes, guarantee that your treehouse’s plumbing system operates securely and efficiently.
