Small jobs welcome

"We went to Angie List to find a professional to help remove a downdraft from our older model JennAir Dual range oven that finally went out just before Thanksgiving. He came right over that same day he accepted our request, took a look and said, no problem. He returned a few days later, removed the downdraft and sealed up the hole that has been coming apart for years (which we didn't know why there was such a draft under the oven until you...wait for it, you move the stove and see what's under there. Work was professionally done, looks great and no more cold feet while cooking. Will definitely hire again."

"The gentleman that owns Sroka Designs is extremely nice. He always showed up when he made an appointment. The product is fabulous and he did a great of installing the shutters. I had a cheaper quote from a competing company but this product was superior and there was no comparison between Sroka's customer service and friendlines to this other company. I will call him in a heartbeat for any future window coverings"

"Gary was excellent. I actually bought the wrong size curtain rods, but he was able to cut it down so it would fit my window. Above and beyond the call of duty. He was very polite and personable. I will call them again."

FAQs for window covering service projects in New Memphis, IL

Custom window treatments cost $800 per window, ranging from $150 to $3,000 for materials alone, before labor is factored in. Blinds are the most economical option, while custom curtains and drapes are more expensive due to intricate designs and premium materials. The final cost depends on your style preferences, material quality, and the complexity of the installation.

Mini blinds are the most cost-effective window treatment available, providing efficient light control and exceptional value. They offer the lowest cost option at $600 per set and serve as a dependable solution for budget-conscious homeowners. Roller shades and valances offer cost savings by avoiding premium materials, ensuring that quality design and functional installations remain uncompromised.

Prices increase with larger windows, premium materials, and additional labor for complex installations. High-grade fabrics, hardwoods, intricate designs, and motorized hardware all contribute to the total cost. For instance, drapes run more than Roman shades because they use more fabric and detailing. Still, a well-chosen treatment pays you back in style, privacy, and insulation.

Layering treatments—say, a sheer shade paired with floor-length drapes—adds depth and polish to any room. Sticking to one color family keeps the look cohesive while mixing textures boosts dimension, sound absorption, and energy efficiency. You also gain flexible light control, shifting from full sun to total blackout without swapping hardware.

Energy-efficient window treatments lower energy costs by minimizing heat transfer through advanced fabric technology and design. They block excessive sunlight while maintaining a consistent indoor temperature, thereby reducing the demand on heating and cooling systems. They retain heat in winter and keep your home cool in summer, maintaining year-round comfort and producing measurable savings on electric bills through superior energy management.

Bay, picture, and dormer windows rarely pair well with shutters because their unique shapes demand more flexible coverings. For a cleaner fit and better performance, choose treatments tailored to those dimensions—think custom shades, drapes, or valances that accentuate the architecture instead of competing with it.
