"I've never purchased custom blinds before so I didn't quite know what it would cost. My wife and I purchased 15 custom shades (top-down bottom-up) and the total came in around the $4K mark. The sales consultant was very transparent with cost and helped us work through options and explained the outcome. She even gave us general interior design assistance and looked at carpet samples when that contractor arrived! There was an ordering issue for five of our windows. Once identified it didn't take more than a few hours to find a solution. They ended up re-ordering (rush delivery) the correct coverings and even though we technically paid less than we should have the company honored our original quote. It wasn't seamless but their service showed when things went wrong and that's what I'd expect. I'd hire them again."

"Mikalai expertly repaired extensive areas of head-to-reach wood trim and fascia on the exterior of our 35-year-old house. Some of the trim required highly skilled craftsmanship. When finished, the woodwork looked seamless and like-new. The complex external crown-like molding (cornice) matched perfectly. I can highly recommend him."

"I needed to find a contractor to build my front porch project and after talking to 4 of them and never heard back from them, I found Rickey Thru Home Advisor. I gave him a call and he was pleased to know about my project. He is amazing, understanding, professional, kind, pleasant to work with.He explained everything that I needed to know and updated me every step. He was on top of everything. Very organized with each team that he has. We had a little struggle with the county, for the permit and inspections but that didnâ  t stop him and he made thru . Very patient!! He works with amazing people. Billy and Jen did the finishing touches on my porch. They did a. great job. Im so thankful that I met them all and for the work they all done on my new Porch. "Hired Anthony to perform an home inspection on a house I'm looking to purchase. It turns out I may not be buying the house thanks to the great, thorough inspection Anthony did today. If you need an homeinspector,or remodeler,I'd recommend to him. Very highly. He charges the least of all inspectors and is great at what he does as well as being a caring, genuine person. If I had not hired him and did a self inspection to save money,Imay have bought a nightmare. Thanks Anthony Wells!"
Custom window treatments cost $800 per window, ranging from $150 to $3,000 for materials alone, before labor is factored in. Blinds are the most economical option, while custom curtains and drapes are more expensive due to intricate designs and premium materials. The final cost depends on your style preferences, material quality, and the complexity of the installation.
Mini blinds are the most cost-effective window treatment available, providing efficient light control and exceptional value. They offer the lowest cost option at $600 per set and serve as a dependable solution for budget-conscious homeowners. Roller shades and valances offer cost savings by avoiding premium materials, ensuring that quality design and functional installations remain uncompromised.
Prices increase with larger windows, premium materials, and additional labor for complex installations. High-grade fabrics, hardwoods, intricate designs, and motorized hardware all contribute to the total cost. For instance, drapes run more than Roman shades because they use more fabric and detailing. Still, a well-chosen treatment pays you back in style, privacy, and insulation.
Layering treatments—say, a sheer shade paired with floor-length drapes—adds depth and polish to any room. Sticking to one color family keeps the look cohesive while mixing textures boosts dimension, sound absorption, and energy efficiency. You also gain flexible light control, shifting from full sun to total blackout without swapping hardware.
Energy-efficient window treatments lower energy costs by minimizing heat transfer through advanced fabric technology and design. They block excessive sunlight while maintaining a consistent indoor temperature, thereby reducing the demand on heating and cooling systems. They retain heat in winter and keep your home cool in summer, maintaining year-round comfort and producing measurable savings on electric bills through superior energy management.
Bay, picture, and dormer windows rarely pair well with shutters because their unique shapes demand more flexible coverings. For a cleaner fit and better performance, choose treatments tailored to those dimensions—think custom shades, drapes, or valances that accentuate the architecture instead of competing with it.
