"Linda came on a Saturday to provide an estimate, which was highly competitive. She and her son were here within two weeks of estimate to install window film on all of our windows and job was completed within a few hours. Would absolutely recommend window tinting and the use of SuperTint to do your job"

"We had a lot of exterior upgrading done - leaky roof, new windows in the upper floor to replace old ones with irreparable condensation, old leaky patio with rusty supports. This company deserves its "exceptional" name! The roof was completed in one day by a team of six workers. The six upper floor windows were done in two days by a team of two. Siding was completed in three days by a single expert worker. Completely new porch was done in four days ."

"His name is Rod. He is fine but the guy he has used for years, the contractor Les. I talked to Rod and somebody was supposed to come out but after 3 phone calls nobody got a hold of me so I just quit calling. Nothing major but I spent a lot of money. I was just a little disappointed because Rod was pretty good. It was minor like my door is sticking and I can't figure out what the problem is. And then I had some windows that were slipping down and Rod said Les would be getting a hold of me but he never did. I have an old house and they really messed up my window frames on a couple windows because they are all wood. If he had said you know these window frames are old and this may happen but he didn't. I was really surprised when I walked around and said hey my windows are messed up, he just looked at me like I was crazy. Not all of them, just a couple. I did shop around for windows at different places and the other places were outrageous. Rod told me they had a special going on so I got the next better grade up. Even if Les had called me back and said hey I'm not going to be coming back out. OK Now Rod called me back all the time and he suggested some things that I never thought of. Like shutters for the second floor. I liked his creative because he suggested different paint and things. Rod's professionalism was an A but Les I would give a C."

"It is a waste of money. The great majority of people are not going to find any value out of the service. If you need design consultation, you need a full service consultation. If you already have knowledge and experience, and you just need to get a few ideas, then you don't need to pay for that. You can just get a magazine or a book since you already have the knowledge of basic designs in your head or a little bit of experience. To have someone call you and give you information over the phone, you are not getting the personal service that you need. You may as well take the money $49 and apply it to something else like getting someone else to come out and give you the service that you need. Because, you are not getting much, you are not getting anything at all. They are going to have you do the work. After talking to them and I was talking to other home designers, I found out that that was a waste of time and waste of money. I gave them a C because they didn't fail at what they do but they don't offer any value for what they do. There's not much value to it. The cost was fair. They didn't do a terrible job and the cost isn't terrible, it was only $49. It just has a very low value. For responsiveness I gave them a B because they will answer your phone and answer your emails."

"Gary was excellent. I actually bought the wrong size curtain rods, but he was able to cut it down so it would fit my window. Above and beyond the call of duty. He was very polite and personable. I will call them again."

"My customer experience with PHM was the best experience I have ever had with any company in my life. They installed my kitchen 6 years ago.. It seemed as if they knew exactly what I wanted before I said it. They sourced material that was the most cost friendly and high quality I’ve ever seen. Not to mention how gorgeous they’re work is and on top of everything is has held up Phenomenal. Everything detail from the perfectly leveled tile floor that has never chipped or cracked to the perfection of the beautiful paint. The way my Granite and marble countertops blend with the entire Aesthetic of not just my kitchen but my entire house with added features to represent my exterior as well. The work PHM has done is what truly turned my house into a home for me and my family. If anyone needs work done at a fair price that will truly make you fall in love with your home there is no topping PHM.. I have since then moved to another State that PHM does not cover.. I still over the years cannot find anyone with the same experience and overall work flow and perfection as PHM. Aside from the work they do PHM are extremely Respectful Of your property. It feels as if they treat your home better than they’re own. with an Immaculate work ethic and an overall 11 out of 10 performance. If you need anything done to your home I would recommend anyone from my mother to my daughter and everyone in between to give PHM the opportunity to turn your project into something you will never forget and the tire customer experience you will find yourself searching for in other companies for years to come."

FAQs for window covering service projects in Smithton, PA

Custom window treatments cost $800 per window, ranging from $150 to $3,000 for materials alone, before labor is factored in. Blinds are the most economical option, while custom curtains and drapes are more expensive due to intricate designs and premium materials. The final cost depends on your style preferences, material quality, and the complexity of the installation.

Mini blinds are the most cost-effective window treatment available, providing efficient light control and exceptional value. They offer the lowest cost option at $600 per set and serve as a dependable solution for budget-conscious homeowners. Roller shades and valances offer cost savings by avoiding premium materials, ensuring that quality design and functional installations remain uncompromised.

Prices increase with larger windows, premium materials, and additional labor for complex installations. High-grade fabrics, hardwoods, intricate designs, and motorized hardware all contribute to the total cost. For instance, drapes run more than Roman shades because they use more fabric and detailing. Still, a well-chosen treatment pays you back in style, privacy, and insulation.

Layering treatments—say, a sheer shade paired with floor-length drapes—adds depth and polish to any room. Sticking to one color family keeps the look cohesive while mixing textures boosts dimension, sound absorption, and energy efficiency. You also gain flexible light control, shifting from full sun to total blackout without swapping hardware.

Energy-efficient window treatments lower energy costs by minimizing heat transfer through advanced fabric technology and design. They block excessive sunlight while maintaining a consistent indoor temperature, thereby reducing the demand on heating and cooling systems. They retain heat in winter and keep your home cool in summer, maintaining year-round comfort and producing measurable savings on electric bills through superior energy management.

Bay, picture, and dormer windows rarely pair well with shutters because their unique shapes demand more flexible coverings. For a cleaner fit and better performance, choose treatments tailored to those dimensions—think custom shades, drapes, or valances that accentuate the architecture instead of competing with it.
