"I would highly recommend this company! I have an older home and they repaired all of my original double hung windows. Each window had different issues I contacted them and they came and did an estimate for the work. They also explained exactly what work would be done. They were very thorough and transparent. They did the estimate in the fall and the work was scheduled in the spring. They came on the date that was scheduled, amazing! They were extremely reliable, and showed up for all work as scheduled.They did beautiful work. It is such a pleasure to be able to open all my windows!. The business is very well run, very professional. From the lovely woman in the office to the gentlemen that came to work at the house, they were all terrific. I can't say enough about this company and the quality of their work. I feel the pricing was fair for the job and workmanship."

"Great! We have a 140-year old Victorian with third floor knee walls, very hard to insulate. Rob and his sons did a thorough job of applying high R-value insulation between the rafters, so we will have a cold roof to prevent ice dams in the future. Also had old casement windows in the basement that were falling apart, and they rebuilt four windows with new frames that look like cabinet work. Reasonable prices, great attitudes -- can't recommend more highly!"

They put two windows in for me (where windows didn't exist before) and covered up a window. They insulated and everything. No painting but that was cool. I was very impressed. "Bob removed some existing damaged drywall and torn commercial-grade carpet in my basement as well as some unfinished framing. He also reframed ceiling soffits. Then he framed a new utility closet and wall for a future bathroom, put in wall insulation, installed three doors (one of which was a double door), framed and installed a picture window, and installed Pergo waterproof laminate flooring. He painted the ceiling and walls, installed kitchen cabinets, repaired a window sash, and installed and painted trim, including around some lolly poles to make them look like columns. He also installed matching antique bronze door hardware, insulated a cold water pipe that dripped condensation that would have ruined the new drywall ceiling, and made a nice shelf on a half wall as well as some custom plywood doors for a storage space under my stairs. He also installed wallpaper in the upstairs half bathroom. He is meticulous, thorough, and conscientious, and the quality of his craftmanship is very high. My new basement is absolutely beautiful. Since I didn't bid this entire job out, and because the total ran over the estimate that Bob provided upfront (for example, painting wasn't originally estimated, but it made sense to have him do it as part of the job when the time came), I rated him a 'B' in price. I assume that I'm grading the work based on what I think that the job should have cost, but I honestly don't know how to do that. He charges by the hour rather than the job, and all I have to go on to compare is the estimate that Home Depot gave for installing the cabinets, which was roughly the same as his estimate to install the cabinets. However, as I said, I am really happy with the end result and think that he does excellent work and has helpful ideas for saving money in terms of design, materials, and construction. He also cares about details that make a room look finished and complete."

"- We needed to redo our guest bath to make it more usable for all of our elderly parents who had trouble climbing into an old clawfoot tub to take a shower when they stayed with us. The work was supervised by JMS contractor Tom Moss, who showed up on a regular and consistent schedule once the job started. He was very easy to talk to and answered all our questions. He took care of details like reusing the old chair rail and cutting it to fit around the new shower enclosure. He had to work within a small footprint where our old tub used to be, and managed to leave just enough room to open the door without hitting the wall separating the new closet from the new shower enclosure, and found a glass shower enclosure small enough to allow us to keep the original window. The bathroom is now much easier to use, especially for our parents.

"We originally hired Chris to install replacement windows. We were extremely please with the job he did and because of that experience we decided to use Chris to paint the outside of our home. We were looking for someone who could both do carpentry and paint because we did not want to have to go through the trouble of using multiple contractors. Chris did an outstanding job on the project. He found that there was extensive damage to the trim and had to replace and repair much more than originally anticipated. He fixed all of the problems that he saw, including many that were out of the scope of the contract. His workmanship is excellent and he took the time to make sure that everything was done right. On the staining he used a combination of spray with brush over. This required extra prep work to cover all of the windows but resulted in excellent coverage and penetration. We have been in the house for over 30 years and can honestly say that this is the best paint job we have had. On top of the outstanding craftsmanship , Chris is very easy to work with. He is an extremely hard worker, he is very respectful and courteous. He took extra time to explain things and to make sure that we were comfortable with everything he was doing. When he was done he cleaned everything up and removed all of the debris. We will definitely use Chris for other projects and would highly recommend him for any painting or remodeling project."
