"I needed windows replaced on my home which was built in 1947. The wood frame was rotted through. I first contacted Renewal By Anderson and was given a ridiculously high price. A second “contractor” gave a very low price but I got the feeling they were not professional. Then I contacted Major Homes. Lloyd came to my house and showed me a full size sample of the product (not just a corner cut (which is what Anderson showed me). Then he gave me what I consider to be a very reasonable price which was not even 1/3rd of what Anderson quote me. The timeline was good and the custom made windows arrived quicker than I had expected. A team of three very professional installers arrived and performed the installation in a way that impressed me. They obviously had a ton of experience and did the job perfectly. "Window King is one of the top rated window contractors in my area, so I scheduled an appointment with them, as well as with the other two top rated companies. I met with Window King first, and immediately liked their punctuality and professionalism. Nick, the owner, is very personable. Anyone would appreciate his no pressure sales approach. I know I did. "This went poorly from the start.
We got an initial estimate from Chris, and then decided to wait until we got a couple other estimates, and the weather was better to start this job.
From there on, this company was relentlessly calling me during the workday, not leaving messages, but I had missed call after missed call.  Finally, since the woman on the phone was friendly, I had them come back.  They confirmed the estimate, and we got a contract together to replace my two windows and fix the siding.  They said that I would be contacted for some further measurements and that the windows would be ready in three weeks.
Three weeks went by, I didn't get a call about the additional measurements.  When I reached out to them, they finally sent someone to take the measurements which turned out to be unnecessary.  Then another month went by and the windows were finally ready.   Of course one of my windows was meant to have a dryer vent.  It would have been nice to be told that they weren't including the vent, just a window with a hole in in.  Which was plugged with cardboard, and installed on a day it rained in the afternoon.  A warning so we could have been ready with a vent would have been good.   (They apparently subcontract this window work, and the guys who came from the window company were quite nice and professional.)
The windows are not high quality.  I'm very disappointed in them.
Now for the siding, in all this time, they never got around to it, I ended up having to have the people painting my house make this repair.  Then Chris told me that was really going to be a favor anyway, so he wouldn't knock much off the price.
In all, a project that should have taken 3 weeks took 8 for no reason, other than Chris did not follow up with us one he got his initial check.  Overall, I found his attitude poor, he was condescending and non-responsive, and in fact I called and made a complaint to the owner Elias, who really didn't offer much as far as making me feel better about it.
Once the job was done, of course Chris was relentless about getting his final payment.  He asked if I would drop a check in the mail.  It took me a couple days to pick up stamps, so when he didn't have it immediately, he was relentlessly calling me again during the workday (I can't always pick up, and have to let my phone go to voicemail).  I told him it was in the mail, and he actually turned up at my house.   I saw him creeping around my  front and side doors as I was coming home.  At first I didn't realize it was him, so I turned around and nearly went to the police station.  Then I realized that he had called me earlier, so I called him, and he said he stopped by my house.  When I repeated that I had mailed the check, he then asked if anyone was home.  Why?  I have no idea, I already mailed the check.
This was highly unprofessional behavioir, and I am very uncomfortable that he was doing this.
