Working with William Mackay roofing was a great experience.  I knew from my home inspection that I needed to have a membrane sealed on my roof. I called three roofers before the winter and during early spring and every one of them was slow to get back to me, or just not very informative, would charge for the estimate, etc...

I called William Mackay based on the Angies List service reviews and I was not disappointed.  They contacted me immediately through the app.  They were available and they arrived on time.  They provided a free estimate, took photos of my roof, and shared them with me. They showed me exactly what needed to be done and they were straightforward - they did not try to sell services I didn't need.

When I inquired about scheduling, they had space on that day's schedule - they immediately called a worker in and got to work on my roof. The maintenance was completed in a few hours. They took photos of the completed work and emailed both "before" and "after" photos with an in-depth explanation  of the completed work.

Ben and Bill Mackay (sons of William) handled the job. Ben Mackay shared information on how to maintain my roof.  I'm a new homeowner and I bought a well-maintained house that is almost a century old. He shared info on the difference between newly constructed roofs and the materials used, and roofs like mine.  Bill managed the job.

I paid a fair price but more importantly, I know that I can call them and they will do a great job.  They also stand behind their work. Family owned businesses are important - they rely on word of mouth and repeat business.  Highly recommend.

"The cleaning was done well, without damaging my middle-aged roof. Price was reasonable. The owner was prompt, perhaps too much so. (He pushed coming out the day that he responded to my request.) "My husband and I had a lot of questions and discussion with Robert before we made the choice to go with K&R Roofmasters. Robert was very patient and thorough in his presentation of what his company does when replacing a roof and in explaining our options. After his initial presentation, we had many questions before making the decision. (We had a previous bad experience with a different contractor when trying to obtain a roof estimate, so we were overly cautious.) All our questions and concerns were met with patient explanations. Robert was the ONLY contractor that went in our attic to inspect the roof from the underside before giving us an estimate.  When we made the decision to use K&R, we felt pretty confident that we would be satisfied.
Our roof was way past its lifetime. It was "potato chip" condition and there were leaks. Because our budget was straining from making this purchase, we were concerned about what would be discovered under the old roof shingles. Unfortunately, a lot of pieces of plywood had rot in it and had to be replaced. Robert's team checked every piece of our roof for structural integrity so only the pieces which were actually damaged would be replaced. This helped to save us money rather than just telling us it all had to be redone. Robert never tried to pressure us into doing unnecessary work which we really appreciated.
The team Robert used was a group of nice, hard-working, respectful men; Robert supervised and did some of the hands-on work. Everything was cleaned up well and the end result is a very well done, attractive roof with a power fan to keep our attic cool to help protect the shingles so they will last longer. We have gone through an entire winter with snow, ice, wind, and lots of rain and there has not been one leak or problem with our roof. Robert told me several times if we have any issues, call and he will tend to it and I'm sure he will, if needed.
Also, anytime I called the office, I had respectful and kind staff members help me.
I would highly recommend K&R and if I have a roofing need, I will be calling Robert!

"Zack was serously sick at the time and we had some scheduling problems but he sent his partner to do the work. Did an outstanding job on my old very dirty roof which was stained from decades of leaves. I had some concerns about the pressure on the shingles but the advanced brush technique used for all the pressure washing and chemicals on roof made it look new again. Likewise the other areas. The deck which was in terrible shape had two coats applied by brush as I requested and easily the best it has ever looked! Would use again in a heartbeat since I have had some very bad staining jobs in the past from other companies. Nice to have someone who does their own work and knows the technique."
