My name is Dusty Shook, I am the owner of ShookScapes LLC. Yes the name is new, but the business is not. I have been in the industry now for 20 plus years under the names Shook Lawn Maintenance and PamScapes LLC. Those 2 companies were ran and owned by my mom, Pam Shook. She is now after 30 plus years in the industry retiring and I am taking over and look forward to serving each and everyone in the north Georgia area under the new name ShookScapes. \nMy companies primary focus is “making your dream yard your reality.” The pictures I’m attaching below are just little snippets of my customers vision and my reality of making it happen. If you have been thinking and dreaming of a front yard or back yard oasis message me, email me or call. I will set up a time to meet up with you to create your very own dream yard!

"They came out and did a good job. I wouldn't buy it again. It was fine. I don't remember there being a problem. We still had stuff in the backyard that we had to get rid of ourselves. It was just how the deal was."

"This is a great deal of mulch, to put 6-12 inches deep under a play structure, in the same way churches and schools have to do.  My son has already had one broken wrist in a play structure fall elsewhere and we're taking no more chances. At first their prices looked a little high in comparison to others on the internet, but I actually paid about the same as everyone else was advertising, once the deal was made. They have a coupon on their website. I called on a Friday near closing time, and they promised and in fact delivered within 24 hours from Woodstock to Decatur.  Some other companies had slightly better prices but  would not come this far.  The guy on the phone was very courteous and helpful -- gave good advice. When the delivery was a little late, I got a courtesy call in advance  to explain. The small dump truck fit up my narrow drive and unloaded as close as possible to the backyard. The quality and amount were exactly as promised -- I'll likely have extra for some gardening. Overall, I was very pleased indeed and will call them from now on. $35 per cubic yard for the mulch and $85 for the delivery fee."

"Quick estimate and fast work. Was very professional from start to finish. High quality work at an affordable price. Highly recommend Philip. This was a mess I dealt with for years and had contacted numerous folks for help. People don't show up, get overwhelmed and don't call back with an estimate or try to rip off a single female. Philip was amazing and I'm so thankful to have found him. Update: Most of the work was done as per the contract minus a few little things that I questioned but decided to let go....such as the top of the retaining wall having a thick layer of dirt so plant things....and it was mulched instead. The mulch was thin and a few inches of digging you run into the concrete blocks and aren't able to plant much at all. I've had about half of the plants die that we tried to plant. I began having issues with the work soon thereafter it was completed. Water was still a major issue and his solutions did not work. I contacted him several times asking for repairs to be made on pipes that are coming out of the ground that were supposed to be buried. He has made two unannounced trips to my house which has a locked privacy fence so he couldn't properly evaluate or fix anything. He tried to get the Metro Parks to fix some issues he found which I had previous stated the Parks were not willing to fix and knew about. I thanked him for visiting but asked for help from HIM on his part. He stated that he was still thinking about how to fix the problem. It's been over a year and nothing has been fixed. He has never scheduled a time to come look at the yard or do work. I continue to have a messy muddy backyard. He has a two year warranty on his work but it's not being held up. He made a few emails and phone calls to apologize. I asked him to please give me some money back if he didn't know how to fix this like he thought he could and he has not replied. I think over a year is unreasonable and I have been more than patient. Some of the work is still fine, the gutters and drain spouts are good. The retaining wall itself is well made. The beginning to the end of the project was fine. It's just getting him to do the work on the 2 year warranty for things that aren't working or are coming apart. I believe he may have more than he can handle or perhaps doesn't know how to fix it but isn't willing to give any money back to find someone to fix it."

"Dreamscapes. Chris Nance and associate David planted shrubbery, transplanted other plants and added mulch to flower beds. Both were personable, polite and accommodating. Very pleased with their work and highly recommend Dreamscapes for your garden work."

FAQs for landscape soil, sand, mulch and rock delivery projects in Adairsville, GA

Topsoil packs your garden with the nutrients plants crave, improves soil structure, and lets water drain at just the right pace. The result is a welcoming planting bed that makes routine chores—like weeding and aerating—far easier. In short, quality topsoil boosts fertility, builds stronger root systems, and keeps your landscape looking vibrant season after season.

If you’re tackling a large area and have room to store extra soil, bulk delivery almost always wins on price. Bags cost more per cubic yard but arrive clean, sealed, and easy to haul around tight spaces or raised beds. Match the option to your square footage, storage space, and muscle power, and you’ll find the most cost-effective and hassle-free choice for your project.

First, measure the square footage you want to cover, then decide on a layer—most gardens thrive with 4 to 8 inches of fresh topsoil. A 40-pound bag spreads over 12 square feet at a depth of one inch. Multiply your area by the desired depth (in inches), divide by 12, and you’ll know exactly how many bags to load in the cart. Using this quick formula guarantees even coverage and a healthy, vibrant garden bed.
