".We called our warranty company at 10:30.Jon and Ray came to our house at 2:00. They went to the front of our house to look at the drainage system as well as the drainage in the basement. <br />    They were polite and answered all my questions. I was very impressed with both of them. <br />   We paid $75.00 for a service fee for our warranty company so I am not sure what they charge other customers. <br />    <br />    If I ever have any problems I would definitely hire them again. <br />"

"Philip helped us change a cabinet board under the sink which was damaged by a water leak. He has a lot of knowledge and experience. The price is reasonable. We plan to hire him for our house maintenance and remodeling job in the future."

"Samuel was responsive, punctual and provided great service. My project involved installing a dishwasher and garbage disposal from scratch which meant removing an exisiting cabinet, installing new electric and plumbing lines along with a switch for the disposal. Samuel got all of the work done in 3 hours and the finished product looks great."

"The radiators and several pipes in my home burst during the "Polar Vortex" in January 2014.  I had three contractors come to give estimates, and although W.F. Naugle and Sons' estimate was more than the other contractor (the third never got back to me), I told the insurance company that I wanted to work with them because Rich Naugle was the only contractor who calculated the BTUs needed for the radiators for each room, taking into consideration the location of the room, door opening sizes, and the square footage of all windows, and the direction each window was facing. I had done some research ahead of time and knew that this was necessary to get the correct size radiator. One can't just measure the depth, height, and width of an old radiator to get the correct size. The new radiators are much smaller, but put out the same BTUs.)   <br />      The insurance company balked at the price difference, but let me use Naugle after their adjuster walked through the house with Rich (the owner), who explained everything that had to be done, including why they couldn't use parts from (old) radiators to fix the radiators or just weld the broken pieces back on. <br />      I'm so glad the insurance company let me use Naugle. I wasn't living in the house at the time, just using it on weekends, with the intention of moving in when I retired in mid-2014.  So I had to trust the contractors to do what they needed to do without me watching over them all the time.  Naugle didn't disappoint -- they were very professional and it was obvious when I'd come up for a weekend that good progress was being made. The workmen were always, always, always polite, professional, and personable, and it was obvious they knew what they were doing and did it well. They also treated my house with respect and were very patient when answering my questions. I really cannot say enough good things about them. <br />      By the way, this really is a family-owned business - Rich is the son of the founder, and his son is one of the plumbers who worked on my house. These guys are really old-school when it comes to work ethics and knowing what they're doing. <br />      For more specifics, read on... <br />      The kitchen radiator that burst was a different type of radiator - it fit into a recess in the wall, but no one makes that type any more (it was impossible to clean behind it, as it was literally framed into the wall, so I'm glad they stopped making them!). But I didn't want the new radiator sticking out into the kitchen (it would have made it impossible to open a lower cabinet), so Rich called in the rep from the radiator manufacturer to consult on the best way to address the problem.  The radiator they ended up putting in that spot fits just perfectly into the space left by the old radiator.  <br />      Unfortunately, as they removed sections of the walls to get to the broken pipes, they found that the stack (main sewage pipe for the house) had cracked, and  -- and I really appreciate this -- they told the insurance adjuster that they felt that it was age, not freezing, that had cracked the stack (the house is 80+ years old). I think this is a great example of the ethical nature of this company. <br />      The stack (cast iron, about 6" in diameter, running from the second floor all the way to the basement) must have been incredibly difficult to remove, but they did it without making huge holes in the walls or damaging anything when they took it out. And speaking of holes, they were very careful not to make the holes in the walls any bigger than absolutely necessary, even tho' it made it more difficult for them to remove the busted pipes and risers.   <br />      And when they removed the old radiators, they didn't scratch the floors or ding the walls, even while bringing three of them down from the second floor. And trust me, these things are incredibly heavy and awkward. Notably, the other contractor who gave me an estimate said they would be as careful as possible when they removed the radiators, but said "it's inevitable that the floors will be scratched and dinged" and they wouldn't take responsibility for fixing them.  Mmmmm.  <br />      I was so pleased with (and frankly, amazed by) the work they did, I have recommended W.F. Naugle and Sons to my neighbors and friends, and even if the price is a bit higher than other contractors out there, if you want the job done right, it's definitely worth it to hire them. <br />"

"After 40 years of use, the main bathroom in our raised ranch house needed remodeling and a complete overhaul.  Espenshades Plumbing had previously remodeled and upgraded the master bath in this house several years prior.  Because of their excellent performance and track record, we contracted with them again and without fail they did another superb job.  Overall, this project went smoothly without any major faults or delays; they were the first people in onsite and the last ones out when the project was completed.  After the design plans were set, all selected material and new bathroom fixtures were ordered and received prior to the project start date.  Espenshades Plumbing managed the entire project: assisted in design planning, ordered and purchased all the material and bath fixtures (faucets, shower unit assemblies, grab bars, glass doors, toilet etc.); They coordinated the work schedule for the painter and the tiling workmen company so  that there were no gaps in the daily work schedule. On site they performed all the plumbing readiness tasks, did electrical work and installed all the new bathroom fixtures and new lighting we wanted.  Workmanship was superior; carpets in the main part of the house were covered to avoid tracking dirt from outside the house, work area was clean and organized each day at quitting time, curtain was hung in bathroom door way to minimize dirt/dust extending to other part of the house.  <br /> The old fiber glass shower stall was taken out and the area was converted to a walk-in shower stall. The floor, walls and ceiling were framed and made ready for ceramic tile.  Their master plumber began by taking out the old shower stall and fixtures, cutting/installing the cement board for tiling, built the frame for the shower door threshold, installed the lining for the floor drain, built the frame for the shower bench seat, upgraded the drain plumbing to 2 inch PCV pipe to the main outlet in the basement, added wall studs support beams for grab bars.  Espenshades installed eyeball lights in the shower ceiling and wiring which connected to separate dimmer switches; previous work they installed a bathroom exhaust fan. The above phase one took approx. four days to complete.  Once this work was completed the shower and bathroom area was ready for phase two; that being, ceramic tile installation for the shower walls, floor and ceiling of the shower area and tiling the four bathroom walls for the tiling company workmen to perform their work.  Once the tile and floor covering work was completed, Espenshades master plumber returned for phase three;  to install and connect plumbing fixtures, install internal shelves, grab bars, the shower glass door frame needed to complete the project and ready the shower for daily use.  <br /> I would highly recommend Espensahes to anyone who needs plumbing related services big or small, especially bathroom remakes and upgrades.  More impressive is that they help with design ideas an procure fixtures on your behalf.  They provide a project estimate in sufficient detail to  know the total coast of  labor, and materials.  When the project is complete they provided a invoice that includes a detailed list of all on site man hours involved and a itemized list of all materials and supplies that were used in the project work for your review and compare to the approved estimate.  Project price which included cost of selected bathroom fixtures and projected man hours was acceptable, indeed very reasonable for the high quality of work and the superior workmanship.  You will certainly be pleased and totally satisfied when you select Espenshade's for your plumbing needs. <br /> <br />"

"Another Charger dealer had not followed up on his promise. Chip heard about it through the warehouse in Pottstown, PA. He called me and checked to ensure that the connections and install was done appropriately. Not only that, he also brought his own part to connect draining for my RO drinking water system in kitchen. He was prompt and took care of everything without any charge. If you are getting water treatment system you should go with Chip Covell. It is hard to find people that you can rely on for this kind of service."

"Great! Mike arrived right on time to replace our very old water heater with a new one. He has a very pleasant personality and provided detailed and clear information on the process as well as the specific features of our new unit. He skillfully drained and removed the old one which was clogged with accumulated sediment. He expertly soldered the copper fittings to the existing pipes. We will definitely hire him for upcoming plumbing projects and recommend Mike from MAG LLC for any plumbing project!"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Adamstown, PA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
