"Called in the morning, they showed up that afternoon ready to work. Did a great job. Charged half of what another company quoted. Also told me about a $350 rebate I could apply for."

"I ended up having a home warranty that used Plumb Rite as their contractor so it worked out well. Because I had to pay a $75 co-pay I do not feel comfortable commenting on their listed price."

"Patrick was amazing! His bid was fair, there were no unexpected expenses and his work was superb! He is personable and a hard worker and showed us exactly what he was doing and then got on with it. He installed an instant hot water heater so we never run out of hot water no matter how many showers we take. We have plenty more plumbing projects and will call Champion Plumbing for every one of them. I highly recommend them!"

"Terry, David, Lee were all outstanding. They fixed the toilet in two seconds flat. All three were so professional and personable. And they checked the water pressure coming into the house. Were here for about 35 minutes. All done. Will definitely hire again. Thank you Plumb Right."

"Good customer service from the Neighborhood Plumber home office; friendly and warm. They provided a quote over the phone that was roughly mid-way between the other two quotes I received. I chose them because they are local to Alabaster/Pelham and I prefer to support local, family owned businesses when I can and for their quick scheduling. I called right when they opened for business and was able to get scheduled for service. The two-man team arrived within the 1.5 hrs time window they provided, sized up the job quickly and went to work. One started removing the old water heater while the other one got busy prepping the new water heater for install. The senior of the two was knowledgeable and approachable. No smoking or dipping during the job; clean pipe fitting joints; not messy during install; tidy clean up. The job was completed quicker than I expected. As of this review, we are four days past the install and there have been no problems. I would consider them for future work."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Adamsville, AL

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
